I did! On the 29th, I had played not only this album, but lucid collective, and relentless mutilation back to back. In all my years of streaming/drumming, it was absolutely the most physically exhausting challenge I’ve done
@@BirdmanExe I think rock band pro drum charts are the absolute best way to visualize what drum parts really look like. You can obviously tell Spencer is absolutely mad by listening, but you only realize the full extent by looking at the chart haha

Yo same. First listen it was probably my least favorite. Each subsequent listen made me like it more. It just goes to show how much substance is packed into these songs. Bleed the Future is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Is the blast with one handed red called a gravity blast? Regardless, you killed that part. This album saved my Friday morning on 2 hours of sleep.

You got it. For charting, gravity blasts (free hand rolls) have been setup as roll lanes due to the engine's limitations.
This drummer also commonly plays switch blasts (1:30) which is not laned due to its sticking involved.

Respectfully, which came first, Drum Hero, or the drums? And having mastered both platforms, was one merely a noteworthy consequence of the other? Or do you just own the crap out o anything you pick up?

I had a relatively basic understanding of drumming prior to playing these types of games. That being said, I had little to no experience in metal, let alone using double pedals. So that was learnt purely as an extension of the game, and RUclips tutorials.

@@BirdmanExe Thats fascinating...How long did it take you then to go from basic understanding to playing comps like this? I ask because most drummers, myself included, will tell you they could practice notes, theory, technique, instruction, and ear for a lifetime and not approach your skill level(on drums). Maybe how we've been 'taught to learn' is just flawed? Hypothetically, if the band asked you to fill in one night for Spencer, would you be comfortable doing it?
It’s hard to exactly pinpoint when, although a big source of my “encouragement” so to speak, is when I began streaming in 2015~ a content creator came into my community and began charting (transcribing) a bunch of extremely difficult material. I’ve always been determined to be better, so I’ve always been trying to force myself to get better at what makes me feel uncomfortable. That being said, I’m entering into my 15th year of drumming, and these last 5 years have felt like the biggest stretch of learning and improving
I seriously doubt it, there’s a handful of things Spencer does that completely elude me.
