Sumo rookie TAKERUFUJI achieves HISTORIC championship win.

TAKERUFUJI became the first top division rookie to win a sumo tournament in 110 years.
TAKERUFUJI faced off against GONOYAMA on the final day of the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament in Osaka. TAKERUFUJI severely injured his right ankle the previous day and was taken to a hospital. He said, "I'm truly relieved to have been able to fight in the final day's match. I fought to the best of my ability, so that everyone would remember even a small bit of my performance." The 24 year old TAKERUFUJI is known for his quick starts and pushing & grappling style. He clinched his title with a 13 win 2 loss record.
