      @@AddictionMindset You forgot the best supplement in the world to kick dopamine based addictions, L- Dopa in the form of a Mucuna Pruirens extract. It helped me quit a moderate THC and nicotine addiction quite easily. What is the very useful about Mucuna is that the body takes only as much L - Dopa to get your dopamine levels to baseline, when you are starting to have a withdrawl. When you notice that you get a "high" from the supplement, you know that your body already produces the baseline dopamine on its own, and it does not need L - Dopa from an outside source, so you can stop taking it.

Not complete insomnia but horrible dreams that make no sense at all. I’m trying to stay strong for me and my family.

      @kurierlepszejwiadomosci3051 Год назад

      @@joshuap1678 congratulations brother, keeep it up. Unfortunately feeling normal might be tricky since you've been propably escaping reality for some time. I would highly advise you to do these things:
      -Meditation (better sleep, living in the moment instead of thinking about future or past, calmness, focus and many other pros, it might be hard to develop this habit but it's wonderful when you start to see results and you can get this state of mind similar to being high)
      -Excercise (I would go with cardio since it's exhausting and can put you to sleep and i find it more satysfying than lifting weights. Runner's high is great. Achieving your goals in sport is great since you can cut off your 'logical' thinking that stops you from doing basically anything if you too attached to your thoughts. Sport is like a wisdom that comes from experience rather than a knowledge and fills you with drive to do shi* you don't actually enjoy)
      -Journaling/Song writing/Book writing/Reading (These are amazing tools to fight your brain fog, these can help your memory, imagination, conversational skills, focus, developing healthy habits etc.)
      -Socializing (It keeps you sane, you building up your empathy, conversational skills, memory, focus and it's the most important factor in terms of being happy with your life)
      -Logic/Memory games/Math (These are just crucial and saved me from destroying my brain and fatal brain fog)
      -Fixing your posture and vision (Yeah, it really matters)
      -Proper amount of sleep (It's pretty individual)
      -Healthy self talk
      -Get rid of social media or minimize time you spend on them (Being addicted to social media is horrible and draining. You can get anxious, sleep deprived, diagnosed with ADHD since you destroying your focus on a daily basis, lazy, antisocial, delusional etc.)
      -Understanding (Change comes with responsibility. At some point you've propably decided that weed addiction is destroying things you associate with a value higher than you when you smokin on that shi*. Maybe You were exhausted with observing life slipping through your fingers. Find your strength in weakness that was mocking you. You already know what procrastinating does to your life. Changes might seem difficult and unachievable but they are necesarry in terms of running from shi* you don't want to experience. Find your drive either it's a fear of losing or willingness to suceed, it doesn't really matter. It keeps you sane and gets things done. Brain fog is a consequence of smoking. You are the one responsible for either fixing that state or drowning in it. Small steps will guide you through your journey to feel normal like they did in the journey to feel numb and isolated from reality.)

If it can save your life by all means use it. I am Bipolar 1, insomniac, and have struggled my entire life with self unaliving to the point of several failed attempts. I have tried sooo many different things to heal and weed is the only thing that has made my life worth maintaining. I have reached a more peaceful state and can now currently disarm any feelings of self harm as soon as i get them. Just because something is a vice for you doesnt mean its a vice for everyone. We arent all degenerates just trying to party, some of u want to heal. My first unaliving attempt was at 12 and i didnt try weed till 18 for more context before someone tries to blame my mental issues on the weed. I have had my diagnosis since i was 8.

Oh no lets just blame weed its gotta be the problem LOL this channel/video is a joke.

      While he did say fasting can be helpful, we’re all different and I don’t think a sense of starving yourself would be beneficial for you, as you are psychologically as well as physically learning to cope with life without the dopamine hit. Something along the lines of say not eating past 8 pm, and then eat again at 11 am, sounds reasonable! I would say be kind to yourself, and guide yourself toward more peace and fulfillment…. (as he was referring to towards the end of the video), by putting efforts into doing more things that will bring more satisfaction and joy in life. Like working on a project you’ve always wanted to do, or joining a club or a group you might find interesting, and may also help to build some new healthy connections. Best regards!

    • @mbrights3158

      Yes but the thing is weed can deplete your dopamine so completely that you’re at absolute rock bottom, where you’re not producing ANY, only a slight amount for a brief period with use. Believe me, it’s not a pretty place to be. It’s not so much the addictiveness of the drug as it is the depletion of dopamine that makes you desperate for any kind of relief from that hellish feeling. It puts you in an extreme vicious cycle-making it very hard to break out of, even to have the hope of breaking out of! Actually, nicotine is a whole different animal from weed in my opinion. Again, long-term regular use of weed literally depletes your dopamine completely, and that is a hell in itself. I don’t think nicotine/cigarettes come even close to doing that, no matter how many you smoke! However, it wrecks your lungs and is highly addictive!

    Nice idea but canabis has absolutely zero affinity with the dopamine (D1-D4) receptors. Canabis binds to serotonergic receptors. The fact that canabis does not interact with the dopamine receptors (not affect latent dopamine levels anywhere in the brain) is the reason why canabis is not physically addictive, as is the case with all serotonergic drugs like LSD, MDMA. Dependence occurs only with drugs that interact with the dopaminergic reward system. So if you're kicking canabis, it's replacing reduced serotonin levels that you ought to be concerned with. White meats (poultry), beans, nuts and lagumes have high 5HT levels, that will convert to serotonin in the brain.

      I can tell you from my own personal experience over several decades that Thc can be very addictive. Thc consumption ruined my life. I was unable to stop despite trying. It put me in the hospital with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome 6 times over 4 years.
      I was unable to function, spent enough money to buy a house and wasn’t able to stop until I went to rehab and got serious about a 12 step program.
      Please stop spreading misinformation based on neurochemistry. Though what you say is partly factual, there are millions of people with real life cannabis a thc addiction which prove otherwise.
      Nothing you say about the neurochemistry can negate the reality of addiction.
      Your bias is leading you to draw conclusions that have no basis in the real world.

    Love your content man! There's one thing where our paradigms are different. I'd say cravings are always psychical and never physical. Cravings come if you want to smoke but cannot smoke. The dopamine depletion addicted people suffer is called urge. The urge is physical. For instance with cigarettes the urge lasts for 7-10 days and then is gone forever because the receptors fell asleep. Still you can have cravings for smoking cigarettes for the rest of your life - because you still believe that there are benefits of smoking - this is the actual craving and it is 100% psychical if you suffer this after being clean for a year. The good thing is that the cravings are based on deceptions.

      Long reply, hope it helps! I'm 3 weeks clean off thc after failing countless times to quit. Was like you, thinking about quitting everyday and watching videos on how to quit so you're already on the right path, which is good. This video an his others, plus other peoples videos on RUclips have good advice\motivation. Also what really helped me was riding my bike, for cardio an fresh air, and pushups, aswell as other light exercises(start slowly do as many as you can without really straining yourself at first). You're gonna feel edgy an crappy the first few days so the exercise helps take the edge off. Also controlling my thoughts helped, whenever craving thoughts popped into my head I refused to dwell on them, by thinking of something else til they passed, or I would distract myself thru reading, positive or interesting videos, videogames, bike riding, or meditation (close your eyes in a comfortable position and just focus on your breathing when your mind wanders focus back on your breathing, big slow breathes in and out. Another type of meditation, which Jesus and Paul mentioned is finding a Scripture you like and focusing deeply on it. Jesus would also go pray by himself. Scripture I always liked was 'Be still and know that I am God') I had a short attention span at first so I juggled between the above distraction a lot. I substituted coffee with black tea. Supplements helped a lot too, they're cheap, can find on Amazon or vitamin shop or some grocery stores. L-theanine is calming, it comes in gummies or capsules( it comes from green or black tea), chamomile tea, passion flower tea or capsules, lemon balm capsules, all these are calming and help. Write a list of everything I mentioned in this reply. You will heal and eventually you'll find happiness in the things you do in life not the things you consume. You got this, be strong, much Love!

      @mbrights3158 Год назад

      Sorry I’m not an expert, but weed, especially with high THC messes with our sense of reality and our perceptions. I think derealization is an effect of weed for everyone, but I think it would be more pronounced in someone with a lot of stress, and a lot of conflicts in their life. The best thing to do is to begin the recovery process by abstaining, and begin doing relaxation techniques, like deep breathing, meditation, and yoga, and gentle exercise like light jogging, and get plenty of rest. And follow advice given in this video. Also join groups that can provide some support, or see if you can check in with a friend or family member every day to talk about what you’re going through, concerns you have and progress you’re making. Even posting here in the comments is helpful. Best to you ! Be patient with yourself and you will overcome any challenges.

    It was wierd quitting weed because I couldn’t eat I couldn’t talk I couldn’t think I couldn’t watch any videos on my phone without getting dizzy even the most scary thing I couldn’t “GET MY WIENER FCKN HARD”, that made me lose motivation and I was gonna commit suicide because I was going insane, now I’m fully clean feel great have a much better time at work and at home then I ever would high you gotta think of it like this so people have high medium and low when you smoke consistently everyday when your not high your always on a low but when your high your just hitting medium so that being said you’ve messed your dopamine receptors up so much that your always on a low but when you quit your dopamine receptors go back to normal so when your now sober your always on a medium and now you can reach that high point again from idk drinking, sex , etc etc. it was so hard but if you believe you can achieve anything the biggest thing for me in the month period of quitting was telling myself not to relapse because the way I think of it you relapse your back to 0 you gotta stick that 28 days out so that your brain can fully go back to normal

    This is a good video for people who have addiction problems of all sorts, not just to cannabis, but I think something should be clearly stipulated - cannabis itself, on a molecular level, is both non-toxic *and* non-addictive. For many people with chronic pain, PTSD, treatment-resistant depression and neurological diseases like MS, cannabis is a liver saver, not a life ruiner.
    I don't mean to take any stock away from your video as it is brilliantly done, but I think a bit of perspective is needed (judging by some of these comments).

    I know that cravings come and go. But what Im worried about is the depression. In fact I started abusing weed because of it. In the past when I was truly happy, I was able to smoke weed controllsbly pretty long time, I think it was two years. I would smoke than have like 2 month break, sometimes 1 month or 2 weeks, you name it, but it surely wasnt abuse, just use. Problem is that cold showers, working out etc last only short time. I like these activities and I do them pretty often. But once I do it, I again slip into nothingness and sadness that I dont know how to escape. I just can switch the drugs for more comstructive activities but thats just all, once I do nothing I back again in that black hole. Can you please help what do with that? Btw Im 19yo male. Thank you very much.

      It’s a hard situation but you are nineteen and can turn this around without too much disruption to your life. It is important to address the cannabis dependence but it could be beneficial to focus on improving the areas of your life you are able to. I know it’s more difficult than just saying it but exercise, meditate, socialise (if possible), build a hobby or interest. Try accept your current position and make a start somewhere, anywhere,no matter how small. One daily morning habit of walking can be a foundation, eventually progress it into a run. Remember consistency in good habits is more important than effort applied. If you have to smoke cannabis to stabilise mental health then the journey can be more difficult (I am currently in this position at 31). Try cut down to as little as you can manage before attempting to stop. I used to wake up at 4am and smoke but then I stopped that and went to 9am, then 9:30 then 10 etc. Routines are your best friend when you are battling mental illness and substance dependency. Build a solid morning routine and do it every day.
      Ps Take it easy on yourself if you slip back. I have slipped back 100s of times after getting to a strong position, it happens. Just keep building discipline,p and you ll get there, good luck

      Reading your comment I would just say that you need to really understand that every single time you go back to it you’re literally creating that dark black hole for yourself. You are essentially creating the deep depression that comes from your brain not being able to create dopamine anymore. It really really sucks!! I would say when you just get so sick of that feeling and you don’t want to have it anymore- you’ll decide the hit that is keeping you there is just not worth it. It’s really just coming to the realization that you’re going to stick with the recovery process because every day that you abstain… you’re a step closer to getting your dopamine levels normalized, and in turn the dark thoughts will start to lift!! :) It may sound super simplistic, but that really is the way!!
