@@hetaresgaming7771 Im comparison it gets quite boring at times, because its so played out and explored. Not that much movement in the meta. Teamgames are more chaotic, but also allow more different strategies.
@ That's sort of the point. Pro players don't want randomness and chaos in their games, they want timings and strategies to be mapped out to a millisecond. They want builds and counterbuilds. That's what puts the 'strategy' in 'strategy game', where a well-thought out strategy works, not where anything goes. Team games are far too chaotic and unpredictable in its current state, and even if any sort of meta develops from now on due to an increase in 2v2 tournaments, it's not going to be able to catch up to the level 1v1's been explored due to its headstart. At the moment, 2v2 is appealing solely for the viewers' side, as it's a fresh spin of something we haven't seen. This is why Wardi and other creators are introducing 2v2 tournaments, to breathe some interest into SC2's pro scene in the lack of any major tournament announcements as of late. We can like it as something new and fun, but it's like playing an arcade game before going back to 1v1.
Viewers enjoyment is VERY important for pro games. More Viewers= more money= higher prize pools. One of rhe reasons league is so popular is that its so fun to watch!
2v2 is chaotic, yet it's beautiful. I like how players combined their strategies and approaches to make something happen. It's not just a ball of mess, it's a ball of good mess 👌
I would love you to cast more 2v2s from the tournament, particularly Gabe and Statis vs Clem and Trigger or Marc and Goblin vs Maxpax and spirit are bangers
While it's a bit of a mess to watch, I find these games really fun. I'd love to see some Archon matches with pro players again too, it's been years since the last Archon upload.
I've been loving Marc's 2v2 and 3v3 videos the past month or so. Would be great to see a more developed 2v2 (or 3 or 4) pro scene with proper teams and a tournament circuit. Communication does seem hectic. Even watching Marc+Goblin, who've played together a number of times over the years, it's very free flowing and reactionary. I'm sure if you had Serral+MaxPax practice together for a few months they could develop some crazy efficient builds. They're still mostly just playing 1v1 builds with maybe a bit of more greed or min/maxing on strategies.
14:11 Trigger makes an assimilator for Clem... cheeky move to make Clem's reaper a little faster. 26:50 yes there is a bit of an indicator... if Spirit's mineral count drops all of a sudden with minimal changes to his supply, there is a pretty good chance he is feeding.
On that note he also has been doing a lot of 2v2 to figure out LowKo's question. I think the best I've watched was penguin brothers. One player hellbats, the other vikings. Not too much micro in groups and devastating damage versus all races.
32:05: I remember Muta + Medivacs being viable strategy, especially in the days of ignite afterburners upgrade Edit: Speaking of the most cursed strategies, if you leave the game, your resources will be shared to your allies which can't normally happen before ~5 minutes into the game. Furthermore, units of the player left can now be loaded into allied Nydus worms - imagine thors & siege tanks popping up in the middle of your base.
TY for casting. i havent seen the finals. i watched Marc run and it was a beauty. Also a 2v2 combo, idk why but fungal/storm sound like a disgusting combo
I saw those games live and i was really happy to see some team game content. I get that SC2 was balanced more for 1vs1, but team games offer such unique possibilities and strategies, that are not as worked out as 1vs1 i feel. So from my side - thanks for casting this and please more team games if you can get them! (And ofc thanks to uThermal for making this possible!)
I'd be interested in seeing more 2v2 content for sure! Found your channel via a friend's recommendation, so I've just been binge watching your content haha
Just hearing the players who are in this event gave me chills. I don’t even play SC2, I’ve never played SC2, and I am so hyped to watch this match. 2v2 is amazing
I absolutely love casts of more varied formats. Reminds me some of TB's classic Shoutcraft series, where he was really trying to encourage more unusual situations and exciting play. Those were classic series. I'm excited to see how this match goes!
37:25 Most cursed/OP could be playing as Terran & Protoss with unit control sharing, with Terran going BCs and Protoss having a Mothership. Wait til the enemy moves out, warp the BCs into the enemy base, then when the enemy moves their units back to defend, move them to the other base or somewhere else with the Mamaship, and then when any enemy units rotate up to the new location, Mass Recall on the BCs to bring 'em home, all within a 30 second window. Or any other combination of fast triple-warp of tier 3 units, like Ultras maybe.
To answer the question at 35 minutes. The strongest unit is going to naturally be an aoe attacker with double the units. It's got to be either the tank or high templar. Imagine fungal + storm combo. I doubt you get that off without sharing control though.
Having a second team member feeding resources to Protoss really does make Toss super OP in the current balance patch. Toss is pretty good right now, but the balancing factor for them has always been that their stuff is expensive and slow to produce... give them 2x resources and they can pump stuff out really fast and become unstoppable... really good strat from MaxPax and Spirit.
Omg as someone who plays 4v4 and 3v3, it'll be so interesting to see how the high level players play it, It's a very different game even from 2v2, Hopefully we can see some of that some day
All army hotkey doesn't include your teammates troops even when you have control. You can save their troops to control groups though. Also, just to mention that there's no resource trading until 5 minutes in. I always thought it'd be fascinating if you played the same race if you could share supply or pylon power for protoss.
great commentary and thank you for giving us 2v2 analysis. i wish the overlay showed more info like worker / army supply. maybe coud rotate production and unit tabs? lots of 1v1 QoL missing on team overlay tho, is that standard in the game or can they be customized?
Does anyone know what the name of the track that plays around the 6-minute mark in the video? It's such a cool groove by I can't seem to find it anywhere online.
Really enjoyed this. Not sure what casting tool is used but for 2v2 matches it would be helpful if it let the caster change the colours and also showed notifications when resources are shared - similiar to AoE 2 Capture Age.
Back in the days of early WoL deep in Bronze and Silver 2v2/3v3 games also came down who can make more Stalkers and/or Raoches faster. Some things never change ;)
I absolutely love watching 2v2 in professional setting! The only thing is you indeed absolutely need to follow color rules - it's super confusing otherwise. Would love to see more 2v2
Just a thought, but would it work if one player takes charge of the military units of both, and the other player takes care of the economy of both? With good communication between the mil player and the econ player it would mean neither player will get caught off guard by taking their eyes off their units or the base respectively. Maybe not throughout the whole game, but at some points when both are maxed out or close to it
2V2 the pinnacle of starcraft play. Thank you for casting these.
It... really isn't. 1v1 is still the best and far most played for a reason.
@@hetaresgaming7771 Im comparison it gets quite boring at times, because its so played out and explored. Not that much movement in the meta.

Agreed 2v2 is best.

Major props to uThermal and his community for putting this together. Thank you for casting, Lowko! Well done! GG To everyone involved!
love 2v2 !!! Thanks for casting

51:45 was the most satisfying engagement of SC2 I ever witnessed!...MaxPax plan came to frution at the exact right time, & it was so cool to witness.
Just watched and looked for someone mentioning it. The mass siege tank lift being annihilated by cloaked marines and phoenixes is *chefs kiss*
That was soo good!
I'm so glad you cast this! Was hoping you'll get your hands on some 2v2
5:03 Not the Blinkussy 💀💀
Thanks a million for casting this grand finale! I watched uThermal play with Goblin and I immediately hoped you would cast the finale.
At 16:39 i didn´t even know it was possible to farm gas from allied buildings D:
More of those please!
SC2 still has so much to offer after so many years!
Best combo idea - infestors w/fungal + disruptors. You cant split if youre stuck in goo
More 2v2 please!!
Love the Chaos of 2 players per team. And I agree, 9:25 when you talked about the difficulties of communication. Would like to see more 2v2 battles
How does clem mine from it? You can't do that in a normal 2v2
@@JacksonSeiterhave you tried? IIRC You can mine from a friendly assimilator/refinery/extractor.
@@jonsolo32 I have tried. But I didn't have control, that is wild to me
@ maybe it worked when you get control from the other player? I don’t remember now… been a while.
12:33 The bell curve for Stalkers, best part of the video intermission
33:22 marine marauder medivac? Oh wait
Yes Lowko, yes. I've been watching UThermals channel for only a few weeks and it's amazing to see you guys collaborate. Keep this coming!
On that note he also has been doing a lot of 2v2 to figure out LowKo's question. I think the best I've watched was penguin brothers. One player hellbats, the other vikings. Not too much micro in groups and devastating damage versus all races.
So much chaos but seriously fun to watch and think about the differences between 1v1 and 2v2 so cool
Thanks for the video, Lowko. We don’t get to see 2v2 that often, so it’s a pleasure that you casted this. Loads of fun to watch. ❤
2vs2 Max Pax tout ce que j'adore dans SC2 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
i would love to see more 2V2 or 3V3 especially on high lvl nice and chaotic :)
I'm so happy Lowko is casting the uThermal 2v2! Thank you! More 2v2 plz.
34:27 I believe the proper term is "Protussy"
I personally think there is something beautiful about the red and blue player finally putting their differences aside and working together.
32:05: I remember Muta + Medivacs being viable strategy, especially in the days of ignite afterburners upgrade

I would love if 2v2s became a normal thing rather than a gimmick
TY for casting. i havent seen the finals. i watched Marc run and it was a beauty. Also a 2v2 combo, idk why but fungal/storm sound like a disgusting combo

Well, I'm enjoying it lowko !!
Me too 😊
I love 2v2, it's opens up so many new and fresh strats for these players to try
Just hearing the players who are in this event gave me chills. I don’t even play SC2, I’ve never played SC2, and I am so hyped to watch this match. 2v2 is amazing
Yes!!! Lowko is hopping on the 2v2 train as well! Keep em coming king!
em , terran can use a toss gas? ( 14:14)
Same thoughts. How?
love the 2v2 casts, by far my favorite!! :D
Yes, more 2v2's please! Love your stuff Lowko

13:03 i think they can hold, it is under not inthecurrent
I love random Lowko moments
Super cool man ! I hope u can hosts something like this in the future ! Wish you the best lowko !
I LOVE 2V2 ITS ALL I WATCH 💗
I see mass Phoenix i have to watch.

Thus was awesome! Would love more!
This is so nice to see, plz cast more of it 😊
"He's got 2 control groups of phoenixes?!" really got me

From what I've seen with Harstem playing the every race mod, medivac hydra is really busted
Love 2v2
Love 2v2 or even 3v3! More, please.

yeah, more 2v2 please! Very curious to see how it refines
After that first match i just want to see more pro 2v2. Thx for bring this to us Lowkey

Ultimate cursed setup: mothership repaired by dozens of SCVs.

33:20 maybe something like Mothership + Battlecruiser + Tempest lol
I’ve always found team game to be more interesting in any rts over 1v1. Glad things are starting to branch out.
Flying doodad dude for minute 51...name um Bob, because Bob is happy flying around
More 2v2 games! That was AWESOME!
We want more of this!!!!! I said more more more!!! Thanks a lot Lowko
47:25 Trigger hit a massive supply block
yes
robo bro seems like a friendly gerald to me
We are very much interested :)) i had the biggest smile on my face the moment i heared it that its a 2v2
MORE 2v2! Thank you Lowko
33:25 - my pick for 3 units: Ghosts.
(Kidding! Gotta play up the saltiness)

Thanks to Uthermal for hosting this...
I want more.
So happy to see top level 2v2
More 2v2, please! It's a nice change from 1v1.
I would LOVE to see some Lowko Tournaments!
Thank you! Top tier!
and i thought could not be surprised and now we have a PvP with MaxPax vs. Clem .... but have both brought a buddy with them :O
This is so awesome. Props to uThermal
love the 2v2 and uthermy!

The more mirror matches, the better. More mirror matches of the two versus two variety - even better.
I NEED to see a double battlecruiser opener some point in the future.
Yes, more 2v2's please. (And anything to do with Thermy) Cheers lowko!
Back in the days of early WoL deep in Bronze and Silver 2v2/3v3 games also came down who can make more Stalkers and/or Raoches faster. Some things never change ;)
Lowko: yeah they communicating
In-game comms: wtf is this map O.O
its nice to see something new

- A cloak marine upgrade - Laughs evilly
I would like to see more 2v2 pro games actually. Seems really nice
2v2 is a nice refreshing change. 👍
