I think it's described as "death isteslf" is becouse of its Plasma blast and accurately most of time night furies hunt at night to hide their presence so it would be counter intuitive if it was biting someone or something since it would practically show its presence by following the blood

Based on the fact they were basically hunted to extinction yes (still unknown if there is or ever will be more of toothless' kind still out there).
@@wolfstrike2676 there could be more nightfuries in the hidden world, it’s just that they are far deep within it. Another possibility is that the night fury is not extinct and that they avoid humans and other dragons that interact with humans because of their members being killed.

I love the fact that in the actual films, almost every viewer that watched HTTYD thought that Toothless was so adorable because of his cat behavior, but almost everybody forgot how badass the Night Fury is, and the thoughts has happened to other dragons throughout the films, too.

Especially with a night fury dragon, they can be cute and adorable as shown from Toothless but let's not forget that they are very badass and powerful. You know it’s fair to assume that Grimmel encountered Night Furies in this aggressive state back when he was going around killing every last one of them.
Though they’d probably only behave this way because he provoked them into attacking him.
Fax, Hiccup was scrawny as shit and alone and Toothless still gave him the slit-eyed glare, imagine Grimmel with all his weapons surrounded by drugged scorpion dragons? Any night fury he encountered would’ve been in full-aggressive mode.
I still dont understnd how one man can kill a whole species that is difficult to find unless it shows itself and nigh impossible to kill. They are intelligent enough to know they should run when they are being ganged up on by multiple dragons and fast enough to outfly just about every other dragon. They could also easily kill multiple of the deathgrippers with their lightning. So either its some plot development BS or a plot hole.
@@EclipseZth considering Grimmel spent his life killing Night Furies, he obviously learned many things about them. Things even Hiccup doesn’t even know (such as how they mate for life and they can’t live in snowy climates). Including how to best hunt them.
Plus Night Furies are revealed to have a fatal reaction to concentrated Dragon Root arrows as shown in Race to the Edge when Toothless got shot by one and would’ve ended up dying had he not been given an antidote. That’s one way Grimmel could’ve killed every other Night Fury with such relative ease.

I can imagine night furies and the other dragons in the monster hunter world, but the question is… would toothless himself be considered an elder dragon/black dragon? It’s speed somewhat, although lesser, to valtrax. A literal phantom of the skies, perhaps there would be certain points where the dragon follows destructive storms, either natural or made by elder dragons like Amatsu. It’d be so intriguing that such a small elder dragon would be so formidable and phantom-like, combining the speed and tenacity of those like nargacuga and valstrax with the thundering power of even thunder lord Zinogre🤩🤯

Night furies were actually described in the book as house cat-sized Common or Garden "cute" house dragons who have no teeth, very common. Mostly green, with an attitude. Always hungry, but that might have just been Toothless. Spoken as someone who read the books and loved them.

People say bad things about black cats all the time, and as a pet owner of two black cats…. Sometimes people are just plain wrong, or haven’t met the right one. Both my babies are cuddle monsters and the youngest is very vocal.

Lets not forget, Toorhless doesnt know the extent of his own powers because no one taught him. And as far as we know, the only one to have ever consistently killed nightfuries in Grimmel who uses poison. I refuse to belive that one man could end a whole species of dragon known to be difficult to find and even more difficult to kill. Likely that others still exist. Just that we have never seen them.
