Thanks so much for your videos...the more I learn, the more confident I am in my knitting! Is there a way to modify a top down v neck raglan so I could do a folded neckline rather than icord like the pattern calls for? The V neck sits beautifully as it is now, so I think I would need it to be more open to leave room to add the folded v neck?

Yes you can! Try sketching on knitting graph paper to see how it would work best for you.

Sometimes not only is the sleeve too tight, but the armhole is too snug for a set-in sleeve though the bust measurement is fine. A modification I've made is to lengthen the armhole depth on the front and back of the body with plain knit rows after underarm shaping has been complete. The underarm shaping is kept as is. When I knit the sleeve (bottom up), I add extra stitches on the first row after the cuff so that the extra width matches the increase in armhole circumference. The underarm increase rate is kept the same and cap shaping is kept the same. This leaves extra stitches at the top of the cap which are bound off on that final bind off row. this works IF not too many stitches were added to the width. If I'm left with too many stitches for the top of the cap, I add extra decrease rows after the initial underarm shaping has been done and those extra rows match the extra rows that were added to the armhole.

It sounds like you've developed a great method of modifying for your body shape!

Thanks for this lesson - they are really helpful! I increased the number of stitches on the sleeves of my Woodburne Cardigan to fit my arms, and am trying to figure out how to adjust the directions to fit them into the bottom-up yoke. Any tips and suggestions here would be delightful! Thanks in advance.

Oh I think when you begin sleeve decreases in the yoke you’ll need to work more rows, could also remove a few extra at the underarm area.
