The funniest thing about these comments are the people claiming to be "smarter" than these students after watching the video, yet the same people fail to realize that this video is satirical. Bruhhhh.
This is clearly satirical. I go to an elite university (not as good as Harvard, but still fairly high up) and I can tell you that the students around campus here would NEVER give these sort of answers.
you can tell that those students are not Harvard or even ivy league students. The demeanor and poise a ivy league student has is, without a doubt present and none of these students have it.
What's shocking to me really is the ignorance in the comments section. This channel is run by Harvard students and they are obviously PURPOSEFULLY LOOKING for comedic interactions/responses. The thing is, the most entertaining reactions will be those featuring students who couldn't respond to the questions correctly or at all, but the students in the video do not represent the majority of the student body in the slightest. Perhaps the few students featured were the only ones the video producers solicited which could not answer the questions or recite the pledge by heart... You have to take these videos with more lightheartedness and reason. Maybe some Harvard students aren't up to date with current events, so be it, but that shouldn't make you assume that the institution or the student body is any less prestigious, that would only reveal your spitefulness and ignorance.
It's as if the point of this video went right over the heads of its viewers. Did no one catch the aside in the middle of the video? "We're doing the same thing Fox did." Haha, regardless, brilliant video.
I am sure they met too many students, and they picked the ones who gave wrong answers. its impossible that in this video there was no student who gave right answers.. this is a propaganda video.
whatshisF4C3 I suppose the ignorance of these students could be considered satirical if similar videos showing the ignorance of many of those receiving a "higher" education didn't reveal similar results.
onceuponamidnightdryExcept that those "similar videos" were satirical as well (and if they weren't, they are most likely of mediocre colleges because some college kids really are that dumb--even so, you can't just generalize all higher education to be like this, what a smartass). It really IS that simple: This. Is. A. Satire. Harvard isn't some Communist propaganda machine toxifying the brains of young Americans and making them forget how to hail Uncle Sam.
I think it is understandable to be behind on current events, but contrary to what i believed, these kids speak so casually that it really makes you wonder how they got in. They are not outspoken - they seem quite average. One of the most intelligent people i met went to Harvard (now owns a business as a college advising expert). Although he behaved indirectly supercilious during the time he interviewed me, at least he could articulate his thoughts, and he would always have an answer for something. In all ways he was a genius. These kids act and appear like the high school students at my school!
A R.Torres Dude, you are so fucking dumb you probably couldn't even make it into your local community college. First tip? Learn how to communicate your ideas coherently. "I have all the right comment"... lol you dumbass
The truth here, is that this guy found the right students for his questions! Fox News got unlucky with some students who are well-educated on America's foreign policy. Nobody should be surprised by these students' abilities to recite The Pledge of Allegiance… most of these kids either grew up in a liberal household where The Pledge was not reiterated, or formed their own liberal views at the age where they realized they didn't actually need to recite the pledge; thus, forgetting it. These students are probably smart in the areas they study, and unfortunately, not everyone watches or reads any news sources to know much about what goes on in the world. Saying that America is the major threat to world peace and not being able to support that claim is a good example of liberal conformity, while saying ISIS is the major threat and not being able to support that, is the typical conservative conformity. I respect the student for saying "I don't know" instead of making an insupportable claim.
Everyone is good at one specific thing. You cant ask a computer genius to make a 7 star dinner. Even the smartest of the smartest cant and dont know everything.
this is pretty much the same for americans across the board. I'm not sure why we single out kids in ivy league schools, who got there through test scores.
Not following the news and currents events such as the girl that said "I am not well inform" does not mean she is not smart. Since when did the news become uni course itself and unable to answer related questions makes you stupid?
Sarah Connor No, we won't compromise. The phrase 'under god' was added to the constitution in 1952 at the height of the red scare. It did not exist in the pledge or on our money before then, and it should be removed as soon as possible as per the separation clause in the first amendment in the constitution.
OMG THESE ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY , WTH ARE THEY TEACHING THESE KIDS WOW STUPID IS IS STUPID DOES , ARE YOU FRIKIN KIDDING ME HARVARD SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF ALL OF THIS , THIS IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL
A Harvard student just quoted Ben Affleck on his assumptions. Ben Affleck has so much ethos on religious matters that his assumptions are quoted by Harvard students. Logic.
Most people don't understand, you don't have to be smart to get into an Ivy League school. Its how much work you do and how much money your parents have. Minus the ones who really deserve to go to schools like Harvard, like the ones who work multiple jobs and put in the work to get a specialty degree that other colleges don't offer. Literally, they may offer more classes, but I can take the exact same basic courses that teach the exact same stuff at my local University as they teach at Harvard. I was going to say for less money, but its still a rip off either way.
That is not true. I know people, who are legacies to these schools and their relatives donate millions of dollars, that are still turned away. Buying your way in is not how everyone gets in. My friend that goes to Stanford says it is the hardest thing she has ever done. These schools can say perfect SAT and perfect GPA aren't good enough, you need to be remarkable to get in. Bullshit if you think Arizona State gives the same education. When high school valedictorians are struggling to keep a 2.5 GPA at college, its clearly much more challenging than a school that takes any C student from high school and gives them a 4.0. Top schools look for the very best in the world.
Fox is 100% right. Not sure the point of this video and what it's supposed to "debunk" because it failed. Charles Murray needs security to walk through harvard now which he's walked 1000s of times before.
I'm in 8th grade and I know the pledge of alligenence (I didn't search this I swear) I pledge allowance to the flag of the united states of America qnd to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Amen
+iluvmaryam I'm only 4 years old and I also know about the pledge of allegiance tbh. I'm not bragging, I just want people to know that I am capable of knowing a lot of things despite of my young age. Amen and Allahu akbar.
Is this what Bill Clinton was talking about when he said we have an entropy of good leadership? I haven't met one person in my entire life that I would want to represent our country. Not one person that I've ever met across the globe has had knowledge concerning or information pertaining to any real and current issues. I wonder if that speaks more to my social class or society at whole; however, after seeing this video I'm further worried about our current situation. ... even if this video was staged.
As religion developed, the role gods played altered and monotheism developed to replace the pantheons of old. The most widely worshiped god in the present day is confusingly called "God" most commonly, and is the monotheist deity of Christianity, Judaism, Bahai, Islam, and a handful of other religions, living and extinct. God is never referred to as Goddess by any of the Abrahamic faiths; even when formless or hermaphroditic, like in Kabbalah. In Islam as in Christianity, God is called by the speaker's usual word for God (this being "Allah" to Arabic-speakers); in Judaism, God has many names, including (but not limited to) "YHWH," "Jehovah," and "The Great I Am." The Zoroastrian God is called Ahura Mazda. Not to be confused with Azor Ahai aka Stannis Baratheon the one true king. Among atheists, it's common to intentionally conflate God with other gods to highlight the identical absurdity of their existence.
I can't believe people are falling for this selective perception scheme. Of course ISIS is bad, but should one make a video interviewing a few random college students and edit the footages to only feature those who are ignorant of the facts, or like the previous video, believes that America is a bigger problem than ISIS? There was like only a few student's beliefs, but it's biased because it barely represent what rest of the 20,000 students think. Whoever made those videos are clearly narrow minded and promoting their own agenda about an entire organization based on how a few person thinks.
I appreciate what this video is trying to do as *a satire*, but I think it could be clearer or more exaggerated. So many people in the comment section clearly are mistaken tha]t this video is showing the "brainwashing" of colleges and arguing so.
Apparently satire flies over most people's heads
The funniest thing about these comments are the people claiming to be "smarter" than these students after watching the video, yet the same people fail to realize that this video is satirical. Bruhhhh.
babyyneekyy it's so tragic tbh 😣
You can almost taste the irony
This is clearly satirical. I go to an elite university (not as good as Harvard, but still fairly high up) and I can tell you that the students around campus here would NEVER give these sort of answers.
you can tell that those students are not Harvard or even ivy league students. The demeanor and poise a ivy league student has is, without a doubt present and none of these students have it.
Sam Clark is the best. Haha I'm over here dying that was so good

Satire. It's satire.
lol at the people not realizing it's a joke
they are just making fun of fox news
It's as if the point of this video went right over the heads of its viewers. Did no one catch the aside in the middle of the video? "We're doing the same thing Fox did."
Haha, regardless, brilliant video.
Fox News, ISIS, the Pledge of Allegiance, Cursing, Baseball, and Ben Affleck. This video has it all!
When your high school said it every morning so it's permanently in your mind forever.
I am sure they met too many students, and they picked the ones who gave wrong answers. its impossible that in this video there was no student who gave right answers.. this is a propaganda video.
Yes....the university itself published a propaganda video to trash themselves...
egyptian420 its not the university this was published by students
iwillkillyouamanda egyptian420 this is a students' work who could be biased. its not an official work by the university.
When he was like "amen" at the end. haha
"you done fucked up"
2:07 I believe as Ben Affleck said....
With liberty and funding for all!
LOL, people its SATIRE!!!😂😂😂
is is just despicable
=( .....and i didnt think id fit in, i have an admissions meeting tomorow.
All those students work at the snack bar...Who gives a crap what they think!
Yes indeed, the "best and the brightest".
No need to be jealous
My life's goal is to be as miss-educated as these tools. I just don't think I have enough time to do so.
onceuponamidnightdry You do know that this video is satirical, right?
whatshisF4C3 I suppose the ignorance of these students could be considered satirical if similar videos showing the ignorance of many of those receiving a "higher" education didn't reveal similar results.

Okay, this video makes me feel a lot more confident about my application. fingers crossed.
Did you get in?
Not a great showing for an Ivy League school, to be honest... But, maybe I'm just being harsh.
If I were to take the entirety of his footage and edit it in favor of Harvard, then it would make them look like complete geniuses.
Okay now go do this at Berkeley and see what the result is
1:54 best thing making your lady friend laugh
"Ya done fucked it up" lmao... Too funny. These people are sad.

It's satire ignorant.
A R.Torres I dont know how to phrase this politely but "who the fuck are you and what is your business in calling me out"? :)
+Andrei T I go to Harvard. You are talking about me on a public platform, so I have all the right comment.
A R.Torres Dude, you are so fucking dumb you probably couldn't even make it into your local community college. First tip? Learn how to communicate your ideas coherently. "I have all the right comment"... lol you dumbass
Lmao at the end

I don't feel so stupid attending community college anymore. Lol
UnemployedCameraman Oh nah. It's satire. Sorry to burst your bubble mate.
the satire
Our best and brightest. Buying their passport to a high paying job. Proof that you too can succeed, if you can afford the tuition.
Amen
Brazilian's samba in the first part of the video.
this is pretty much the same for americans across the board. I'm not sure why we single out kids in ivy league schools, who got there through test scores.
Oh wow, guy at 1:07 got it right. But he messed up the pledge of allegiance? I am still giving it to him for on the spot.
Kindergarten version: I led the pigeons to the flag of the United States of America
Not following the news and currents events such as the girl that said "I am not well inform" does not mean she is not smart. Since when did the news become uni course itself and unable to answer related questions makes you stupid?
Are you kidding me.....
If these interviewed "students" were being honest, this is the cherry-picking bias at its best.
Whoaaaaa
The girl at 1:37 gave a great and honest answer!
hahahahahha nice job
Holy shit 3:10 that black guy looked like ksi s brother
I love this guy! :D
I know the pledge of allegiance, and I'm not even American. I've been to America (cumulatively) for 2 months.
Cool your jets it’s just a healthy dose of satire
Are they really harvard students?
I love this guy!!
The title wasn't even correct
I will take the pledge seriously when they remove the unconstitutional phrase 'one nation under god.'
You don't have to say it. I want to say it. So we'll compromise.
You don't say it, and I will when it's rendered.
peace
Sarah Connor No, we won't compromise. The phrase 'under god' was added to the constitution in 1952 at the height of the red scare. It did not exist in the pledge or on our money before then, and it should be removed as soon as possible as per the separation clause in the first amendment in the constitution.
