      Thanks for checking it out, water quality is pretty bad round here so any dive vid where you can actually see thru the water is a good one.

    I went for a drive there just outside kaikora 3 months back. I got 2 legal size paua. Sad the floor should be covered. But on the way out back to Christchurch I found 2 blue bins of paua in a reserve. Funny that

      yeah I expect that if another paua season opens in summer, a lot of the newbies who went last year will go again, and it won't be so easy as last year. Last year if you picked a good spot you could go and get 5 in knee deep water. The RNZ article said recreational fishers took an estimated 35 tonnes out over those 3 months. And then there's the poachers of course, who keep going in and taking. Unfortunately MPI don't have the manpower to stand there on the beaches 24/7 and stop them.

    I wouldnt throw the float drop weights especially around rocky terrain and it can become lodged especially with the drag with a rope
    Pick a nice spot and then drop it

    Any tips on looking for a good spot to dive with a pregnant wahine?

    • @KiwiKaimoana
      @KiwiKaimoana  3 года назад +1

      I suppose a pregnant person won't want to climb over rocks, so perhaps looks for somewhere with a sandy entry point, where she can swim over to other spots

      Kia ora bro, cheers haha change of plans as my mates are now wanting to tag along. Any decent spots to park if you're coming from chch? We're all confident swimmers but I've never really dived for paua before only kina and mussels in the north island as a kid
