This is probably on this channel already but I dont care…Arn Anderson was so friggin great on the stick, we're gonna have to study this one again…December 12, 1987...
When Arn had the full promos to himself and really start getting in his bag Ric always stood in background like a proud dad. He loved when Arn got off.
This is why Arn should be in the Hall of Fame twice. He was the backbone of the Four Horsemen. He named the group and articulated the philosophy behind the Horsemen
Arn Anderson made you believe he was gonna hurt somebody and there wasn't a darn thing you could do about it. Great wrestler, Great talker. Thanks for the memories Double A.
1:23, when Flair cracked that smile, I can only think he was saying to himself, "He's on fire. I don't need to jump in here. He's money!" It's rare to have a Horsemen promo where Flair doesn't chime in!!!
100% - though I wouldn’t call him underrated, everyone Horseman was the man in the ring and on the stick. But Arn has a special intensity which is why they called him the Enforcer
This was the beauty of the Four Horsemen: you knew they all could talk but they allowed only the ones who had a point to make do so. Meanwhile the rest stood fast in a show of solidarity. These men were a team, in fact they were THE team in Pro Wrestling.
My sentiments exactly. Every worthwhile wrestling school in the world ought to do a case study in it for the attendees. And good promos like this should be a mandatory minimum to graduate the school. If you can't cut a good promo you don't graduate. Period.
This is what separates the men from the boys. Why people enjoyed the NWA/WCW over the WWF. The mic skills were unmatched at the time. The promos made you a believer.
Growing up, Arn was my favorite horseman. He was great on the mic and I loved the concept of him being the enforcer. His matches also looked legit, especially how he would target a body part and cripple his opponent.
Mr. Intensity Ladies and Gentlemen! This promo should be a case study in ever worthwhile professional wrestling school around the world. Transcribed in the languages of the world so that everybody can understand it, get it in. Because this is how you cut a promo kids! Damn Double A is good! Scary good. Bravo BPWPITW!
Arn delivered these promos like that HS coach when you just came in from middle school. You sat there like a young punk and heard every single thing. You thought damn I’m in here listening to The Man talking! I better pay attention or if he says remember what I said? And you don’t have the right response. You might be getting grilled one on one and be humbled. Am I right gents? Remember those days? That was my vibe at 32 or so listening to him! So hats off to him.
AA was tops on the stick. Most believable promo in the business. Also one of the best technicians in the ring. Man had it all, used it, made you absolutely believe he would/could kick someone's ass.
I consider myself lucky to have sat and watched all these promos and matches with my dad. It’s sad I can’t do that with my kids because wrestling these days sucks. But I’ll show them these when they’re ready.
I lived and grew up in the 80s in NYC, when we as kids went outside to play stickball and other games. Saturday’s were no different. But no matter how much fun i was having i knew i had to get upstairs by 6pm for dinner and 6:05pm for TBS WCW and watch Arn, Tully and Flair. I looked forward to this soooo much. Thank you Double A for the wonderful memories.
Every original Horsemen was absolutely great on the mic. And I purchased 500 shares of Tully Blanchard Enterprises when it went public back in March of 86. Man that stock has made me alot of $$$ over the past 36 yrs.
I always liked Arn Anderson for his toughness and aggressiveness. It takes a true gem to even be considered one of The Four Horsemen. They were tough and they meant business buddy. A lethal combination.
@@ffghjj9996 it's good. And it's much better than any other promotion out there. But JCP of the 80s can not be replicated. Back then much of the crowd believed it was real.
Absolute classic. The prelude to what to me still stands out as the single greatest moment in professional wrestling history. The Barry Windham heel turn on Luger.
I loved it how the heels back then were able to justify their despicable behavior during promos. Not knowing anything about pro wrestling, the NWA, the Four Horsemen, or how Luger got kicked out of the Horsemen, one would think that Arn Anderson was the good guy here with what he was saying. Anymore now, when the heels cut a promo they don't even try to explain why they do what they do.
My time speaking is very expensive on this station but Im gonna spend some of it. Geez. I miss this alot. I tried to explain what a mark is in a previous thread but I got to tell ya I'm a mark for this promo. I believe every word he said he meant!
Double A talking streak. This is how you get over pro wrestlers. No scripts no promo school. Two minutes and philosopher of the Four Horsemen Arn Andersen easily filled it.
My. God. The Enforcer was on FIRE. Haven’t heard someone cut a promo like this in a LOOOOONG time. Completely unscripted, just go out there and talk about your opponent. This is the difference between a good promo and a GREAT promo.
Arn Anderson could fall out of bed and cut a great promo anytime anywhere in under 3 minutes. No BS, just a guy that knew how to talk with expert precision.
greato80 Because ,as great as he was , he was suited to be a tag team legend. Tully on the other hand could have carried the NWA title. It's a shame he had to settle to exist in the shadow of the Nature Boy. Which ,during this time , was a pretty darn good spot
it seems like the whole 'shaved head with goatee' thing wasn't popular until mid 90s or so. Definitely that shaved head with goatee look could have made Arn the first one to do it, and would have made him look more badass.
You kids need to stop trying to compare people all of the time, and learn to appreciate the individual. Arn Anderson was big time! There was no Stone Cold he was Stunning Steve Austin who was trying to be some sort of loverboy or something. Double A was an original.
I’m positive that before they went to air, Arn turned to the rest of the Four Horseman and said something along the line of “Take five boys, I got this one.”

If anyone thinks that this is not one of his best promos...1 they’re wrong. 2. Find me a better one. No one delivered a more impactful message that Double A.
I am not disagreeing but I do have to say Jim Cornette was always on top of his game wether he was going after The Rock & Roll Ex. Fantastics or when Paul E Dangerously attacked Corny and His Midnight Ex With Paul Es Original Crew.
Leslie Robinson right? He was truly the best along with the nature boy ric flair. Arn needs his own DVD collection just like all of the wrestlers do. I can't name them all but you know who I am talking about. Wwe needs to release a DVD of him. Maybe a double, or a triple DVD.
Arn looking like that one uncle at the BBQ that ain't putting up with the kids horseplaying
And still looks stronger, tougher and meaner than you ever will.
Lol Arn was like 26 years old when this interview happened. My God could that man sell the shit outta everything he said.
They mess around and knock over his plate of tasty BBQ he would then spinebuster their asses
LOL I know right. He is that uncle that would take you deer hunting and buy you a rifle for Christmas.

There would never have been a Stone Cold Steve Austin without Arn Anderson.
David Schultz gives me Stone Cold vibes as well.

So true
When Arn had the full promos to himself and really start getting in his bag Ric always stood in background like a proud dad. He loved when Arn got off.
You're absolutely correct. I always noticed that too.
They were good friends then so they both enjoyed when the other was on a roll.

Honestly bro that may be the funniest comment I've ever read on RUclips
Jacob Christner so truE! Lol he always looked like a dad
Lol some poor teenager got this same lecture for cutting his grass wrong .
I don't remember who said, but another wrestler said Arn looked 45 when he was 20 and still looks 45 when he's 65. As much as I adore Arn, it's true.

Yeah. Flair saw that he was in rare form and let it flow naturally. Two of the best
Tully was like "hell yes my man", nodding and taping him on the shoulder. They both knew that Arn killed it.
Listen to his “Wooo” at the end. That’s exactly what he meant....
Exactly! You can tell Flair and Tully knew he was on a roll. I got goosebumps on this promo, they way they were reacting I think they did too!
I've only seen Flair do that with two people, Arn Anderson and Bobby Heenan.
"The Game plan was fine, you weren't the Athelete,to pull it off" That is fucking GOLD standard Shade right there !
He was right.
"I'm comin' for you Luger, don't be looking for me!" - CLASSIC! Arn is definitely one of the greatest!
How much of a bad ass do you have to be to tell someone all that?
THE bad ass.
Definitely a classic. He told Luger I will run your fade and you don’t even have to look for it.
The Horsemen could fill seats like no others could! Learn to love it!!
When this promo was over, all I could think was “man, I can’t wait to see Arn tear Luger apart.”
If there were ever a such thing as a promo school, AA would have to be the dean of the school.
The intensity was off the charts...
Arn, Dusty, Piper good lord that school would have been amazing.
Ric Flair
ERNIE LADD and ASSASSIN!Best ever.
Jake Roberts.
He just spits realistic reaction based promos and doesn't rely on catchphrases. Pretty damn impressive
When he called back to the game plan angle you see all the horsemen be like ‘yep that’s why he’s the man’. Top 10 most underrated of all time big AA

When Arn is on the mic something spectacular is what you will see and hear.
There weren't (and aren't) a whole lot of guys that could hold their own on the same stage with the Nature Boy. Arn was one of the few.
Just got recommended this after Arn Anderson became Armed Anderson on Dynamite.
Now he's Arson Anderson
Can't wait to see what happens next week
I think Arn was one of the few people that could make Ric Flair step back and go “Damn that was good!!!” On his promos.
Ric has stayed that Arm was amazing and he stole a lot from him.
