Then you watch a documentary on this and could be hundreds, or thousands of years. No sense panicking over something completely out of your control.

This sounds like something like the "Big One" that the San Andreas is supposed to release. My great-great, great, grandfather AND my dad all heard about this California "Big One" and nothing happened in all those generations. Sounds like if it works for keeping people on constant edge in California, let's stretch it up to Canada. I'm laying odds it'll likely be 3 to 8 generations before ANYTHING even shakes and is remotely felt in Oregon/Washington. I'm NOT going to give myself a case of anxiety with documentaries with "scary narration and scary music in it". Japan is more likely to have 500+ earthquakes before the Cascadia does anything noticable. Now THEIR subduction zone is the place to watch!!! That's a REAL subduction area that proves it's worth as a true subduction zone. Just do the comparison, they have WAY MANY MORE than our weak, little, so-called subduction zone.
