AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on RUclips are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

I love your hacks! I want to share what I use for packing cubes. I reuse the plastic cubes Retail blankets and sheets come in. They come with zippers and I just toss fabric softener sheets in and they pack wonderfully. I use one for bras, one for socks, and so on. Keeps it all straight and I can see clearly through for my items.

I also reuse retail plastics , didn't think of using for rv thanks for the idea.

A tip about packing and preventing problems my dad shared with me 45 years ago. If you place your tools with easily accessible. You will not need them. If you pack them away where you must unload the entire vehicle to access them. You are guaranteed to have some sort of problem which you will need your tools.

Still working on organizing my Airstream 25 foot Serenity and these videos are so helpful. I have my truck set up exactly as LOLOHO has inspired and it works... no need to reinvent when the solution has already been worked out. My truck is nicknamed the Beast and it tows The Beauty! My tow rig is a RAM 3500 high output diesel with the Aisen tranny and it is a beast. Thanks so much for your sharing! Happy Trails folks. Fil

Great tips! There are several dark cubby-holes in my van, plus I think my wall covering holds Velcro! Here's my only tip: Use pillow shams for soft things like down or fleece jackets and throws, then you can just toss them on the bed or couch and they double as pillows.

  • @Elisaemg

I love the cloth baskets from Target, rather than the plastic bins, because... they fit more snugly into the different shaped spaces in my RV. :)

  • @DaveSabol

    1. +100 for Command hooks! So useful and if you shop around you can find some really cool options other than the basic white hook
    2. Sean, I'm with you on the underwear ... reduce, reuse, recycle. Just remember when in doubt rinse them out. ;-P
    3. Less is more. Always take less than you think you need. Trust me, you'll be shocked that you probably overestimated.
    4. Totally agree with having tools handy. I may have too many floating around but I've never been sorry!
I think the one tip that I'd add is look for storage spaces inside of your tow rig too. I installed a great under seat storage unit in my Tundra that holds odds and ends that I may need. Also Velcro and double-sided 3M tape can combine with storage solutions when you have flat panels and nothing to nail into.

In regards to keeping your mattress where it is supposed to be...try velcro, but do not sew it on too close to the outer edge, or you will be faced with another dilemma...getting the fitted sheet on! Also, use a curved upholstery needle and strong heavy nylon thread or doubled flossing thread or fishing line. : ) I've been around sewing machines all my life. I can eliminate all kinds of dilemmas!

I second the tool kit. I can't count how many times we've had to get out the wrench or the whatchamacalit kit. I also suggest keeping extra water hose gaskets on hand. Recently we had one fail on us while we were camping. We weren't at the camper at the time and one of our neighbors was nice enough to shut off our water so our site wouldn't flood. We replaced the gasket and it solved the problem! Now we always keep water hose gaskets on hand.

As newbies, we learn quickly. I love all your ideas as I already deploy many of them. And every trip we keep a little journal of what we need like or want. So we are prepared for our next adventure. But my best idea is for the winter here when we store our trailer... we buy the vacuum bags for our towels, linens, blankets and pillows. No stale smell no need to store in our home and they are reusable. Thanks you guys your videos are great!

Part of the magic with you Kids is you're so Frickin funny! It's just fun to learn. Please don't ever do the Divorce thing. LoLoHo Nation would be crushed and destroyed. I will say I would gladly take custody of SEEMORE! LOL! I have watched so many other RV'ers, by far you guys are the best. I'd love to see a Drone filming video, hence my name Droning Harry. I know you get the point. This is really one of the big parts of being able to just go that I am really excited about. Also one tip: Audible I have so many books on it that I can't wait to use when we're out with Little Droning. Hey, it's gotta have a name that makes it our Rig! I also like the Kindle which you talked about in another video. Ulimate space savers. They are for sure.

Thanks again for your suggestions! When I saw the living area and all that stuff I almost gasped, it looked like a hoarders apartment. We’ve found having mini everything helps too. Extension cord reel for power cords stored in the cargo bay. Hose reels for the fresh water hose and the sewer flush hose. I never keep food staples on my rig whilst in storage. They all go in containers then stored in a plastic bin that I can carry on when packing. I change out unused flour, salt, pepper, spices etc. at the beginning of each season. Plastic bins are a huge help for loading, unloading and storage. i especially like clear ones so you can see what's in da bin. Roll Tide!

I have command hooks in my shower for wet bathing suits. We are a family of 4 with 2 pups. The hooks also serve as extra towel holders. Another thing is, instead of suitcases to the RV on trips, I use plastic bins. The plastic bins will hold other items while we are in the RV or they can be stowed away under the 5th wheel. The RV has its items like towels, blankets, kitchenware etc. Those mostly stay in the RV. However, if I have to do laundry at home I just put those linens/clothes in the plastic bins after they are washed until the next time we are in the RV. Thanks for the tips you have provided!!

My wife loves those plastic see through bags that you buy bedding and other such items in, they are completely see through and use zippers. We have a hybrid trailer so we don't have under the bed storage. And I removed the stove/oven combo and replaced with just a stove top. Three trailers over 13 years and only used the oven once, why have it, but look at all that space, wow! Say nothing of the useless weight I got rid of, what is there we bring anyway just now the pans are in one place not multiple places. I love milk crates for the back of the truck for tools I need often and I don't have to try to remember which bin its in. As always love your videos! Loloho!

It seems like a simple thing, but with a family of four, I know our trash fills up quickly and I would love to know if you guys have any pro tips for managing trash in an RV...from daily practices, to what to do with it/how you carry it to get rid of it...and maybe addressing wild animals, insects, and keeping the smell down. As usual we love the great information and insights that are in your videos. You guys are so fun. We emptied our Airstream to get it detailed and ceramic coated at Master Paint Guard so now we have a blank canvas to work with. You are so right, we were hauling useless junk and it was completely disorganized. We’re making use of your Amazon store and appreciate the product links. We’ve also raised our consciousness about cargo weight so a lot of things won’t be reloaded. Traveling light has many rewards.

Most important thing about packing..... Be sure to weigh your rig from time to time to ensure you're not over the GVWR of either your trailer or tow vehicle or your GCWR. All that "stuff" adds up quick, especially if you are travelling with full tanks or any upgrades such as a 2nd AC, solar, additional batteries, etc.

I store a lot of stuff into milk crates, they fit through the compartment doors very easy and you can see into them. We store our ice maker in the....ice chest. Gun magnets hide the heat in a variety of places. I also clip, trim, and bend wire clothes hangers for movable hooks and different things. We just bought a CA. Air Tools 1 gallon air compressor, that thing is indispensable and whisper quiet.

One day, I started switching them out with heavy duty zip-lock parts bags (think industrial quart and gallon sized Zip-Locks), which enabled me to write on the bag (on he side facing out) what was in it. It works for us, but since I am in charge of all storage over 5'6", I want the lights. Thank you both for sharing your experience, your travels and your (mis) adventures! We have been using storage cubes for camping and general travel for the last couple months (including a cruise to Alaska a few weeks back!). Love storage cubes, super convenient and i feel like you can fit way way more pieces in them vs just throwing them in a suitcase/drawer.

Kimberly Smith packing cubes are great for travel...just put whole cube into drawer wherever ur visiting so clothes are waiting and staying clean! Makes for fast repacking to move on

Hello Sean and Kristy. I really like the idea of hook up lights inside the cabinets. Thank you for the information. I'm still getting my class A ready for the road. I'll install the lights while the new floor goes in. Well you be safe in your journeys and bye for now.

Sean it looks like you need some new struts to hold up the bed so Kristy does not kill her self when getting under the bed. Safe travels.

Gary, I think that's a great idea. It needs some struts comparable to those on our truck, lol -- but I agree we should make that change.

I have been watching your videos for about a year and your tips have been great and very helpful. I installed the lights in the cabinets last year and looked high and low for a small ottoman with storage, just found one that works for our RV a month ago at Target. Plastic bins and boxes are the best. We are pulling a 25 foot Fourwinds with a Range Rover and trying to keep everything as light as possible. Heavy stuff has to go over or aft of the axels so as not to exceed the tongue weight of the vehicle. unfortunately the largest storage space is the front compartment and under the bed. Light weight items such as lawn chairs, outside matt, bar b que and some plastic bins with water hose, cable tv cord, a few wood blocks for leveling go up front.
I am always looking forward for your next video.

The SHOWER! One day while I was cleaning the Airstream preparing for our next trip I had an epiphany! The shower is just a big empty closet most of the time. Why is it empty? So now I keep stuff in there while traveling, like bags with snacks (potato chips, boxes of cookies or crackers) - anything that is awkward to fit in the pantry. Or the giant body pillows we use when watching movies. Anything that is easy to remove when actually taking a shower.

It also makes a good pillow. My Prius V has an under the deck storage in the "trunk", tools and emergency blankets go there. The first aid kit lives in the glove compartment.
I always travel with gaffers AND Gorilla AND duct tape. They actually work differently, and having all three has been useful. One of my duct tapes is red because that's the color of the car. And one time it held my right side view mirror for an entire trip because the night before we left, the hubby hit something and damaged the mount for the mirror. Oy.

We learned that a lot of travel trailers fall short in storage and carrying capacity. We bought an Arctic Fox 25W with over 3,000 pounds of carrying capacity and we actually have two drawers that are empty! We have a lot of storage space. And that is even after I brought FOUR flannel shirts for this trip which was total overkill. We are sitting here today at Mammoth and it is 88 degrees in the trailer. Come on sundown.

Great tips. I love the propacking cubes. I use a lot of them. Thanks for the info on the magnetic light strip. I've been looking for something similar and never seen ones with a magnetic mounting strip. How long do you get before recharging them?
Any chance you could do a similar video on organizing out side gear? Ways to store fresh/black water gear, dirty rugs, chairs, grill, etc. I'm always looking for better ways to store that stuff.
