Taking a wild guess: This helps this technically new podcast with its new management get established sponsorship deals, as it had good metrics before. Now that Gavin owns F**kface, they can define it as a proper continuation instead of an offshoot, and the sponsorship brands can continue with probably more favorable conditions than a new podcast would get.

I live in North Carolina of the United States, we still have hugs, the drink, still in stores, as of my memory last week, food Lion and Walmart had them.

I'm blown away that so little people knew about little hugs. I'm in KY and everyone I know grew up on those things. They were in every fridge at every house with kids and anytime there was a family get together the kids cooler would be full of em.

I didn't at all recognize Chubby when I heard the name but I saw the barrels and instantly knew about Little Hugs. Part of my childhood, even though only my friends' parents bought they and they were tiny so they were good for like two generous sips before you wanted another. Orange and purple were the great though not changing my mind on that.

Hearing them deal with power outage because of a bad storm is wild. We here in the Netherlands can have floods and the power will be pretty much fine. The US infrastructure scares me sometimes...
Texas infrastructure is notoriously bad. Rest of the US, not so bad overall. I had a rough storm and my electricity held.
To add to what LS1056 said I live in Florida and have only ever lost power in hurricanes or particularly bad tropical storms
Yea its more of a Texas-specific thing. I live in the Midwest US (Wisconsin, specifically) and we only lose power if the power lines are literally torn down or a transformer blows, which isnt often. Usually only if the power lines have something fall on them from tornado-level winds or they get so loaded with ice buildup the weight rips the cables apart. Outside of that we are pretty solid power wise (but I still have all of my important stuff on UPSs)

I loved little hugs as a kid. The best lunch box drink and Halloween treat that wasn't candy. The whole drink/snack section was such a nostalgia trip for me
The story of Andrew's mom's bakery faux pas, while different, felt very similar to the time he wanted to order a hotdog with ketchup, but for some reason thought the hotdog mongers would think that was weird, so he ordered it with nothing, which the hotdog mongers were confused by, and he doubled down on it when the asked him something like "Not even ketchup?"
I've done the same kind of thing, saying no to something that I want. But if someone says "Are you sure?" I can sometimes course-correct.
Brains are stupid.
So my dad who is now in his 70s loves The Cheat. Got him the plush when they sold it.

i fell asleep halfway through this (nap time important) and woke up in the middle of the "we is not me" argument and was VERY confused.
The last argument is so much like a sunny skit. Eric = Dennis, Gavin = Charlie, Geoff = Mac, Andrew = Frank, Nick = Dee.
I went to sleep 2 hours later that I planned, because I started listening to this pod about the time I should be getting ready to bed. No rugrats.

We called the barrel shaped juice boxes “Huggies” growing up in Philadelphia. Easily a 5/10. We’d poke a tiny hole in the foil top with our canine tooth and then squirt them at each other.

For Geoff: you can still buy the ice cream truck candy cigarettes (not the gum ones). They are the same candy as Fun-Dip sticks just in a different shape. I find them at the local poppy shops here in south Philly but you can get them online too. Or you can just buy Fun-Dip in bulk, cut off all the sticks and give the powder to some little kid (preferably ones you know).
