At least Saudi Arabia awarded him the gold medal reward which is almost 1.3 million dollars, plus many business men in the country gifted him large sums of money
Does anyone know Iranian state media reported on this. Someone in the comment section, wrote that the Saudi athlete received his government winner's reward and bonuses. So was curious how the Iranian state reported the gold medal been awarded
If the guy from Saudi Arabia accepted it and didn’t file an appeal then he agrees with the call. He had the right to file an appeal and declined so that should say something. The guy from Saudi Arabia accepts the call and that shows class and respect for the the judges, the Olympics rules and most of all himself.
He didn’t appeal because he knows that the Turkish referee robed him once and they would robe him twice if he appealed. Also it’s not the ways of the Saudi to moan and complain!
As one of the comments said I love karate me too and also I play it since long time but what I saw was unfair play. The medal was supposed to go to the Saudi player without any doubt, there was a clear injustice, so that he was superior at all times of the match.

This was so unfair like bruh if you go watch the slowmo clip of this it's clear that red launched a perfect well controlled kick but blue was so sloppy that man legit dived into reds perfect kick it's blue's momentum into the kick that has knocked him out NOT Red's kick that's "too powerful". Agreed. Robbed is the perfect word for it.
Horrible
I love karate, but this was an absolute disgrace... karate has become the laughing stock of combat Sports
It was just perfect timing, not too much force. These judges are crazy.
I agree with you. I love karate and I played since long time but what I see is completely joking.
What a robbery .... Saudi Arabia should’ve got that medal
Definitely
What a joke this is. Looks like official was bribed to me.
A lil palm greasing haha
I woke up today with a Golden 🥇.
How easy was getting that prize?! 🤣
Good luck KSA you deserved the Golden one. 👌🏼
This is Politics guys. I don't care if he didn't get the Gold. What matters is that he knocked his ass out. A happy 🇸🇦

Thanks, i wanted to know what was the reaction in Saudi Arabia
@@jonbaker1697 everyone was so supportive and saying in the news and social media hashtags “in our eyes, you’re a gold medalist”

Haha. Pretty much exact scenario!
This reminds me when my little boy challenges me and I beat him easily, he starts crying and his mom gives him the prize 😅
Happy family u have its good to have a family who share the same love for one sport
The Iranian dude doesn't deserve that medal
He should have have it up in my opinion.
as iranian i am 100% agree 😑

Should have appealed

The politics behind this is even more horrid. (There may have been an element of racism prejudice involved as well.)
The robbery is real

Rock Paper Scissors would even make more sense than that rule…
It is a very bad way to win a medal
He should have given it up. Kind of embarrassing if you ask me.
I watched it in live stream, and really confused when that happened
it was to be our first gold medal D:
Pure evil judging
@@jamesinez2727 :(
The hit that ksa hit happened to me in the training fight we fight and then I got hit the same way but I didn’t fall down I just got pain
A total farce because the rules did not mention anything about pulling the power of kicks! Anyway karate should never be in the Olympics.
How come?
