Watching this made me realize that Faith just knew Stevie too well to even get involved with him. I mean they known each other for 20+ years and Faith just wanted to give him a chance just to see if he would change. Although Stevie looked at Faith as his dreamgirl; Faith just wanted to protect their friendship. I think Stevie was just in love with the idea of having Faith cause of her Icon status in the game. That last scene was very telling. Stevie still makes the wrong choices, and does the wrong things. This wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t get so defensive when, the people who have loved him for years and held him down and truly know and care about him, correct him or point out that he made a mistake. It takes a big person to be able to see that people correcting bad behavior or pointing out a flaw isn’t to tear you down, but to help you grow as a person. To be the best you, you can be. Unfortunately, as long as his gigantic ego is in the way, he’ll keep making the same mistakes: Making bad decisions, cheating whenever he’s unhappy in a relationship, refusing to humble himself and be held accountable for his actions, etc. While faith didn’t immediately give in to Stevie, she still married him, knowing his heavy baggage. That last scene we watched is literally a foreshadowing of the next time he’s unhappy, he will jump to the next woman. That is his pattern.
Listen, anyone who can’t be held accountable for their actions, but gets defensive, fights you, and/or tries to turn the tables on you is toxic!!!
