Loved it! What a great video! 👏🏻👏🏻 So cool for me to see other areas of the country through awesome videos like this! Keep the trip videos coming buddy! 😃😎
Great Video! The Library is a great stop! So many great stops from Houghton north! The Ambassador has great bloodies and pizza! Keep up with the great videos!
The railroad was the Iron Range & Huron Bay RR. It was about a 10 year span (1890s). There is a really interesting book out about it, The Railroad That Never Ran. It actually did run but it wasn't very far. The engine derailed. There was a huge dock on Huron Bay you can still see the remnants of on some overhead photos. You guys were at the big rock cut for the RR. There is another smaller one not far from that one you pass through on one of the roads. There is a really neat cemetery once you cross the water at Cliff. We used to do the UP Overland trips years ago and always enjoy the UP.
Yes, haha and the new truck! Feeling much better about my set up now and it worked great at KOAR! And yes, if I could just retire, I'd be able to spend as much time at all these events as possible, :D.
Yeah, I honestly just got to Cliff Mine by memory but I don't even have it in my Garmin or Google Maps, haha. Also why we got lost up top and didn't find the overlook, :D.
Looks like you had a great time. I was looking forward to meeting at KOAR but bad luck set in on me as well, preventing me from attending. I actually was enroute and stopped in Crandon, WI for a Wed. overnight. Woke Thur morning with a severe bout of Vertigo. Was unable to continue trip. Spent Thu in Rinelander ER and was able to get myself back to IL Thu night. Still haven't fully recovered. I have plans for the Northology event in Oct. in the Red River Canyon in KY. Might see you there.
Wow, sorry that happened to you! That's definitely no fun. I'm going to see if I can make the OTR event, but it seems to overlap with family trips every year (fall break for the kids). Feel better and catch you in the future!
Ha! Thanks, :D. I feel like I either get comments like this or "WTF is that music" but I'm just not into folksy boring stuff like most Overlanding vids you see, haha.
Good video! I am a huge fan of Nissan vehicles. I've had 6 trucks and now an Armada. Still regret trading in my Pro-4x! But, am considering a late year Xterra and making it a serious off-road vehicle.
Thanks! So, these are all pretty well known spots up in the UP, but I don't really record or keep GPX files of them. If you search for Cliff Mine trail, you can find it in Facebook groups, etc. Also, if you attend the KOAR event, there are trail rides too, but it's just a location that I bet you can find in Google maps too to start exploring!
Thanks! Before putting the 33's on (with RTT, bed rack, drawer system and all the weight on a 2.5" lift) I was getting about 19-20 depending on my speed (65 was about the best mileage I could manage). With the new tires, my gauge is showing about 19-20 so I would guess probably 17-18 average but I could probably bump that slightly if I just went 65 everywhere. I just can't, haha.
Thank you I’ve been thinking of getting a frontier to overland 👍 thanks for the content as well I highly doubt I’ll be able to keep it off of 65 to lol
There's not really a route as much as a few different areas that we hit up during this event. If you look up Highrock Bay, Cliff Mine Trail, and Gay Beach, those are the big ones. Also, Mouth of the Huron is beautiful.
How much more did everyone else spend on their vehicles than yours which is just as capable. Well more than some, don't think I would ever buy a chrysler product .
There's definitely a range of prices on all the vehicles at the event. Not that the Frontier was "cheap" but it's definitely a pretty good cheaper option!
That Nissan looks great! What a fun adventure. Michigan looks amazing.😎
Thanks man! It was a blast!
Man! What a great trip! Some of those spots along the water were absolutely beautiful! Great video!
Thanks man! It was awesome!

Thanks man! Appreciate you watching!
Cliff Mine is always the first trail we hit at KOAR, as it has some great variety. Pretty fun up there.
Agreed! Loved it, :D.
Great Video! The Library is a great stop! So many great stops from Houghton north! The Ambassador has great bloodies and pizza! Keep up with the great videos!
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for the tips! 😃
Great video Fletch! Glad you were able to make it to KOAR this year. I like the side quests you all went on to get to the event.
Thanks man! It was a blast. Just need to get you down here now, :D.
Koar is definitely fun. Your video editing has really stepped up, nicely done.
Appreciate it!
Another killer episode! Good to catch up 10+ hours away from home.
Great seeing you guys and thanks!
Hope to see you again at KOAR and/or KORC this year!
I'll be there!
Another great video. Glad to see you at Koar. Hope to see you at OTR
Thanks so much Bill! Good to see you guys too!

Amazing info. Thanks for sharing!!
Great video, you explored my “backyard” of overlanding. Nice work, not real sure about your background music … but the video is really nice.
Thanks! Yep, I pick different music than most other Overland vids for sure. :D Love the UP!
Wow!! What a beautiful trip!
It was pretty amazing!
Nice vid man.. I take my state for granted.. we have some amazing camping in the mitten..
Thanks! I really love it up there. It's a beautiful place!
Oh! The Wyoming BDR was a shakedown for KOAR! LOVE IT!!! 😆Great to see you, maybe you'll take Monday off next time so you can stay for the FIRE...

Another great video! Well done.
Thanks so much!
Outstanding video friend. Great recap and awesome to got to explore the UP!
Thanks man! Good seeing you!
The views are awesome.
Thanks! It was amazing up there.
Awesome video!! 😁✌️
Appreciate it!
Nicely done! We need to get into that area to explore one of these days.
Thanks man! It's a beautiful area!
Would be cool if there were maps of the koar trails you guys take.
Yeah, I honestly just got to Cliff Mine by memory but I don't even have it in my Garmin or Google Maps, haha. Also why we got lost up top and didn't find the overlook, :D.
I still want to check out the U.P. great video once again.
It’s awesome. Thanks man!
Love it, dude!
Thanks man!

Awesome video man!! I wish I could come with you guys!! I have a 23 Nissan Titan Pro-4x!! That Tundra would have no chance!! 😂
Ha! Love Titans! Thanks for watching!
Big iron overland rally should get you to dj their event. 😆you play the best music on your videos.
Ha! Thanks, :D. I feel like I either get comments like this or "WTF is that music" but I'm just not into folksy boring stuff like most Overlanding vids you see, haha.

Xterras are rad. And thanks! Hopefully you find something nice!
Cool video. Looking forward to this trip from Columbus, OH. Do you record and share your GPX files for any of the routes?
Thanks! So, these are all pretty well known spots up in the UP, but I don't really record or keep GPX files of them. Always odd when I recognize the roads you're driving on!
:D
Of course you carry cucumbers in your pocket, how convenient 😂
Love the video man
Hahaha
Hey. Love the content. It’s great. Thanks . I would say however that the new intro does not work as well as the previous one.
Appreciate it and thanks for the feedback.
What kind of mileage are you getting from your frontier? Excellent content

Haha, thanks! Glad it's helpful. It's pretty tough keeping it down to 65, :D. @@jacob-qm2tp
Where is that spot at :58? Would love to take my family there for a quick weekend camping!
That’s up at mouth of the Huron. It can get pretty packed but it’s beautiful.
Been a minute since I made a premiere!
Welcome! Glad you came!
@ 2:26 tell me you're a city boy without telling me you're a city boy 😂 Excellent video good sir!
Haha, appreciate it! @@ericalto22
So is there an actual route shared anywhere ?

You never take out the sweet Tswapped 2nd gen any more?
It currently needs a starter, but I'm pretty much fully "moved into" the new truck at this point.
@@AllThingsOverlanding are you gonna sell it?
That's the plan! @@Bikepro4x
@@AllThingsOverlanding that was a short stent.
@@Bikepro4x it was about 2 years but I tend to get new vehicles pretty often.
What time of the year was this trip?
It was in the middle of September so early fall.
@@AllThingsOverlanding Thank you! Great video! As a Michigander and a snowmobiler that travels to Copper...It was awesome seeing it without snow.
@@BossHog-w9p I love the UP so much.

Thoroughly enjoyed the video after turning off the sound. Music did not match the scenery.
Glad you liked it.
Can you camp on gay beach?
I’m not sure. I’ve never seen anyone out there over night, but I’ve definitely seen people hanging out during the day.
