I've found cleaning the cabinet to use either Gulf-lite or Kingsford fluid. It works well especially when I get frustrated or disgusted with the whole thing.
Johnny, Transoceanics are too large, too heavy and too prone to failure. Besides, this little FR200 does a better job of picking up shortwave stations and with its hand-crank dynomotor doesn't require DC or AC power. It's got it all. You might consider getting one. There's plenty for sale on ebay. Regards, John
Minwax Pre-stain wood conditioner. It's basically a sealer. Works great. I've been using it for years. www.amazon.com/Minwax-61851-quart-Pre-Stain-Conditioner/dp/B014MFONPG/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2NRCGI8W4PA7R&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.S7wx4wlWYo3j4MU-wmaJtoGqEgPMGXUly0af7h6uc8K7-hklJ5x7_ZsQZxyUFohExv0v-b6WE0vQFdIo2f2Jv__pXQLc33cJRCGkWcRuaXqh9l3pW8zIji4699KXKGmvZk1YIVaXV8_f3kGT-2zuxreYjTBXQ8sW-SfuetRe-2jSkESw1DkoR9ZS_4qAp0ZzpNl24Pvo7Ypbr3T08HXN5YqfG3bpcRA2tDPNSeXV78jcH41I6ek99gvsHXQxI7MugZ95DxP6o1N3gpIPzgQ_fjVh8FjQAxFrN_nWH1Q_3UI.Am4sDUElL2Wd8QYLBBn5oNLNQa2AQTrJd0bw3bfiFzY&dib_tag=se&keywords=minwax+pre+stain+wood+conditioner&qid=1721920510&sprefix=minwax+prestain+wood%2Caps%2C164&sr=8-4

I remember way back when I mentioned buying a Zenith Transoceanic for prepping you laughed. But EMF won't blow my tubes.

Hello John. Excellent job on that cabinet. Your custom mix of the stain color turned out just right. Nice job, John!

George H,
Thanks, my friend, but we're not done yet. I still have plenty of opportunity to screw it up. 😋

Hi John, beautiful job! The cabinet looks new now!
Gordon,
Thanks, my friend. It's getting there, but there's a bit more to do. It's all about preservation.

John
John - what are you using to seal the inside?
Minwax Pre-stain wood conditioner. It's basically a sealer. Works great. I've been using it for years.
