Every time one of those explicit raps from recent years comes on, I go straight to this masterpiece as it’s the truth in every way shape and form. One of the best songs ever written....
Not every song from the 60s and 70s is amazing. The reason we think it is, and the reason we rate those eras so highly is because we only remember the good tracks and albums. With today’s music, we remember a lot more of the music that comes out, so we don’t build up a collection of iconic music as easily as you could when the Beatles or The Rolling Stones were performing. But I’m sure, if you put the average musical releases of, for example, 1965, up against 2021, you would see that the quality of song isn’t that different, you just hear more modern music in large quantities, so you fail to find the great quality ones If you want some good modern music, Hypersonic Missiles by Sam Fender, Never Enough and New House by Rex Orange County and a lot of Two Door Cinema club songs are fantastic showings of what modern musicians can do. Please don’t dismiss today’s music so easily. “Guess you guys might not be ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it”
@@baronbrrrrett it’s true. If you showed people in the 30s some Beatles, they’d hate it. If you showed some people in the 60s some NWA, they’d hate it. People’s taste in music changes with the time. That’s why, in 20 years time, people will look back on music in the 2010s and 2020s and love it so much

slides across the floor with socks and a long sleeve button up
Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll
Don't try to take me to a disco
You'll never even get me out on the floor
In ten minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock and roll
Everybody
Old time rock and roll
That kinda music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll, Drew Abbott!
Won't go to hear 'em play a tango
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only one sure way to get me to go
Start playin' old time rock and roll
Call me a relic, call me what you will
Say I'm old fashioned, say I'm over the hill
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll
Still like that old time rock and roll

I know right 😔
Not every song from the 60s and 70s is amazing. The reason we think it is, and the reason we rate those eras so highly is because we only remember the good tracks and albums.
With today’s music, we remember a lot more of the music that comes out, so we don’t build up a collection of iconic music as easily as you could when the Beatles or The Rolling Stones were performing. But I’m sure, if you put the average musical releases of, for example, 1965, up against 2021, you would see that the quality of song isn’t that different, you just hear more modern music in large quantities, so you fail to find the great quality ones
If you want some good modern music, Hypersonic Missiles by Sam Fender, Never Enough and New House by Rex Orange County and a lot of Two Door Cinema club songs are fantastic showings of what modern musicians can do.
Please don’t dismiss today’s music so easily. “Guess you guys might not be ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it”
@@LeoGuidi ah yes, a Back to the Future reference at the end :)
@@baronbrrrrett it’s true. If you showed people in the 30s some Beatles, they’d hate it. If you showed some people in the 60s some NWA, they’d hate it. People’s taste in music changes with the time.
