Its depend on the region. Southern in Mekong Delta they expected quite lots. Central and Northern are traditional basic. And i think still everywhere nowadays, family and parent will arrange properly with understanding depend on both family's condition life. Same as my wife's parent they didnt ask anything. And my family still do traditional dowry and not be asked for anything. The culture still in Vietnamese people life but also change depend on person and people thought and practical.
