  • If you know anything about the historic Tecate Enduro, hosted by the Los Ancianos Motorcycle Club in Tecate Mexico, you know the tough stuff never really starts until the final Special Test.
The entire test was just over 2 hours for most racers and I was not able to capture the entire test, and unfortunately, by the time we got to most of the gnarly stuff later in the loop, my GoPro battery was already mostly gone. However, I did still capture some of the fun and carnage of this super fun loop/special test.
Thanks again to the Los Ancianos for hosting one of the best enduros anywhere.

KC, this race is a great time. Idaho City is still my favorite enduro of all, but I would put this one a close second.

At least they saved the technical for the end, so it wasn't bottle necked too bad.

Agreed. My GoPro battery had mostly died, so I didn't get the majority of the real technical stuff, but it was all much later in Loop 3. The good news is that by that time, most everyone was spread out. Last year there was a lot more potential for bottlenecks earlier in the loop.

    Nice video.
Say, do you find gearing to be too wide... like 3rd to 4th?
I'm trying to decide if the SX would be better in Harescrambles MN where we don't really need high speed. The ratios are closer with the SX so easier to keep RPMs up and not fall off power.
Crazy how the XC 4th gear is same as SX 5th... plus 2 more gears with the XC.

That's a great question. Personally, I have not made that observation with the gearing, but it could be that because on average, our races are more high-speed than what you experience in MN.
From all I've read and watched, the SX is an incredible bike, but for any type of off-road racing, I can't imagine you going wrong with the XC. The motors are so good that "falling off power" is really a non-issue.
