- Sorry for two videos today, i just could not wait to upload this one!
I broke my coin fair cherry, yep I have never been to one before. Truth be told I was always put off by the perceived lack of public transport links to the venue. I need not of worries.
My main aim was to make contact with some Coin Dealers I have either dealt with or have conversed with previously and may come away with some "cheaper" upgrades... that plan went out of the window when I was offered some £££s for one of two coins, found during the February/March bronze hunt.
The day involved three trains and a taxi to get to the venue and the same back (good job I like trains!) but it was worth it. So join me and see what I picked up.
I must say sorry to my son, he edited the video for me but I had to tweak it slightly, more around the montage at the beginning.

*I will more than likely spend any money on coins but buymeacoffee doesn't support the coins in its UI!
The 1903 florin is beautiful but I've always liked the design of the old crowns and other then the scratch it's a beautiful example but all the coins are rather nice , good pick ups
Thanks, Todd. Only the 2nd florin I have from Edwards reigns, and I do like the design. What's not to like about Britannia?!?!
Same for the crowns, a great design, and when near uncirculated are wonderful to look at.
Fantastic 1903 Florin, lovely seeing those in a high quality.
Just to let you know. I'm only getting sound in my headphones from the right side after 38 seconds. Could be the setting on your camera.
It is a beut.
Yeah, it's a new microphone, and for some reason, it records mono when used with the phone. I am trying to figure out what's up with it. Records lovely stereo when I use it directly to the PC. There will be a few videos the same until I work it out. Worse case I will go back to the old mic
Thanks for the heads up though
how did you get that 2p 1797 for only 15 pounds!? I can only find em like that for 35 pounds!
It was from a dealer I have used many times before, he had it marked at £20 and looked after me 😉. Could be stock he has had a while and wanted to sell on sooner rather than later.
That florin is the winner for me, beautiful standing Britannia. That mega thick coin is not so elegant but collectable anyway.
It's stunning in hand I must say. Its only my second florin from Edward VIIs reign, the other is far from being comparable. I only looked at this coin as I had the cash in my pocket.
The Geo III, its a coin my son wanted, and the dealer gave me a good deal, with onl around 770,000(?) Minted definitely collectable and without the dings would have been possible 3 or 4 times more than what I paid for it.
You meant George the 3 rd Two Pence and not Charles 3rd. Correct?
Yes, we'll spotted
Just beautiful Matt!
That was a good day out, I sold one of those 1918H pennies (I've kept the best one) which allowed me to buy those coins.
Was an interesting conversation with my wife when I told her what I spent, initially omitting the bit about selling the penny. She was much happier when I said it only cost a penny!
@@mattscoins great value for one penny 🤣
Very nice Matt 👌 and I'll give you £20 for the 1903 Florin do we have a deal 🤔🤣🤣🤣
