Great information as usual. My top AIO is 3D Speed (the gallon size). It’s up there with the best. Most any color, full sun or shade, heavy or light imperfections, new car or classic, Speed is virtually all you need. For increased cut add a bit of 3D one- oh & Dewalt rotary orange shine-mate pad - gloss city.
Hi John, I've thought of way testing sealant durability. Mark with a permanent marker a panel or glass or plastic area and cover with the sealant. Then do multiple passes of washes or cleaner, apc etc and see how it holds. In that way I've seen one more thing, if the sealant does not affect the marker, then might not affect any sealant might be beneath. And thus, it can be layered. If the sealant erases the marker then it may have cleaning abilities or solvents. In the first category is turtle wax ceramic coating, sonax Ceramic sealant and in the second sonax Bsd. This is my theory and may be usefull Have you tested Koch Chemie s0.02? In reviews seems durable and easy
Top draw product from Rupes no doubt. I’m not a fan of endlessly pursuing products that ‘speed it up’ or ‘make you do less work’ however. If you love to detail then who cares how long it takes. We dont want to always be doing the bare minimum - it’s your passion and you WANT it to be a labour of love….
Hi John that’s a very good alternative for those who don’t want a ceramic coat. Here I was using once in a while the UNO PROTECT and Bead Maker to buff the excess after 30-40 min. I’ll try this for sure.
I really like UNO Advanced. It's doing well after about 6 weeks with a quick top up with polish angel rapidwaxx the next day after i polished. I actually left it on the paint overnight and it wiped off just fine with the rag company 365 towel. I give up on coatings personally the water spots are just gross in my area. It just doesn't make sense to do all that prep and buy a coating and after 6-8mths my car in plastered in waterspots anyhow. Its ironic in my situation i would only use a coating is if i could keep it out of the rain. Any in that case i don't even need the durability of a coating..
Fab video John. I use AutoSmart Mirror Image which does the same thing very well. I can only valet cars outdoors at the moment, due to the horrific problem we're having with mice taking over our garage, they always come in when it gets colder.
So would you not polish the car again either by hand or machine for 6 months? After a few weeks of rain, dirt, bird etchings, etc, I find that a wash isn't good enough and paint could really do with a polish?
One question. I have UNO Protect and Advanced. If I clay the vehicle can I put Advanced on immediately after claying or do I clean the vehicle first? Thank you
Nice video Jon. I've not got any of those products, unless the TW Hydrophobic Sealant is the same product, rebottled. I'd be more than happy to try the TW I have, over the top of an AIO, would Tripple be OK? All the best 👍.
i think there may be minor differences but Seal 'n' Shine in the States is essentially the same as Hydrophobic Sealant wax in the UK (if I got the UK name right - I can only remember the snappier USA name!)
Hi John, I bought Uno Advanced after watching one of your videos, and I must say that I am very disappointed with this product, after two washes the panel was flat, no water beading...
Could be lots of reasons for that beyond product failing. But I've not seen any aio as durable. Regardless of product someone will always report 2 wash failure.
Could be a lot of reasons. Did you decontaminate the paint before polishing? If the car hasn't been washed for some time and is really dirty, this is what I usually do:- 1) prefoam with car wash soap mixed with apc 2) rinse 3) contact wash 4) rinse 5) prefoam and contact wash 6) rinse 7) tar remover 8) rinse 9) iron remover + clay mitt (the iron remover is used as a lubricant 10) rinse 11) dry Looks like a lot but I can get it done in about 1 1/2 hours. The clay mitt and iron remover really helps a lot.
@@gimblito8172 everything has been done ,,by the book" Full decon, clay, panel prep, polish, I left uno protect advanced on the panel for 45 min before wiped
John I’m sitting here laughing my nuts off, as I can your breath, you must be freezing 🥶 . Can you put ceramic codeine on Uno advanced cheers Kev Belfast love the content for tips and tricks

hmm thats not good. it shouldnt be getting all etched up etc.. the protection is there to stop that a bit but you do need to clean regulary each week.
Is it similar to the older one and done polish? I got some of that earlier in the year and just not had chance to use it yet.
One question. I have UNO Protect and Advanced. If I clay the vehicle can I put Advanced on immediately after claying or do I clean the vehicle first? Thank you
Clay. Then wipe down mate. Then polish with advanced m8
Thanks appreciate
Isn't it too cold for polishing in your garage?
My GO TO savior is Adam´s hand polish
Handy video, really enjoyed the information provided and delivery style, only complaint is forensic 10% off didn't work
No issue applying the polish in such a cold environment?

Those clay mits are great 👍
I love seal n shine
If you need to top up with a sealant ,you cant be impressed with the longevity. Expensive product.,but looks a nice finish and easy buff.
