if anyone is wondering, by using the thin plates you can make a fuel tank on your airplane wing so you can make 1 block thick wings that actually store fuel
Or you can use the inline-tanks. The Point is that this mod adds so much great stuff, which makes it all the more infuriating that we didn’t got these in the base game, bc some of these things are just nobrainers!
Well, if the devs wanted to minimize the inventory maybe it would be possible to make an interface where we can customize blocks like resizing, stretching, skewing, ability to change the angle, changing properties, ability to enable/disable paintable blocks just like having the same properties of the paintable signs, the same way we can customize microcontrollers. It would be nice to have that kind of option where we can have the ability to modify blocks in-game without the need for mods or even xml editing because that sort of stuff is too much for regular players like me
I’ve recently reached 3000 hours in stormworks, and GODDD do I wish some of this stuff was in the base game. Much of it is so basic I’m astounded they didn’t add this stuff to the game.
This is an awesome mod I can’t wait to redesign my creations. Also, i can only imagine the future mods that will come out, especially mods that take the place of past xml edits. I love Stormworks and this renews my excitement to play the game. Great vid too!
I'm happy that this mod is providing all these new additions, but its also crazy that this needs a mod and that its not part of the game. I've been playing this on and off for the last 700 hours, but is this basically the devs letting people fix their problems with the game?
@beanis87 They have plenty of time to make all these blocks part of the base game, they'd just rather spend that time working on another DLC for you to buy. Personally, I like that the mod pump actually has a damn arrow showing which direction it is, rather than just guessing with the shitty normal pumps
I'd really like to hear your opinion on this very niche topic. I think that the 40-meter rope length limit in the game is way too short. Now the reason I say that (in my experience at least) is because it makes crabbing boring, relatively hard and very clumsy, since you can only fish a max depth of around 40 meters with plain rope. If you want to fish deeper, you need to use an assortment of winches, which forces you to make larger and much laggier creations, not to mention it's clumsy with the supersized bouys and such.
Ik this doesn't really change the fact it's limited to 40m, but if you just run it through a pulley rather than a rope anchor the rope doesn't have a length limit (assuming for whatever reason you dont want to use winches) Obviously you can also use like a small winch into a pulley gets you whatever length you want fairly compact without messing around with manually anchoring the rope at whatever length you need by hand It's what I've used when setting pots by hand, hopefully once the mods update is out we'll have smaller pulleys
@perplexed2352 I prefer not to use winches or pulleys at all and use strictly anchors. If I were to use pulleys and winches, the whole operation would become so automated that it's more like forgetful farming compared to a fun, engaging experience where you're working on deck with a crew. I'm just looking for something closer to the processes found in real life compared to an automated pluck and set.
I was kind of disappointed when the announcement about modding blocks but, idk, I think this could be pretty cool Also, one thing I'd love to see in the game is an air starter
Great video! Using this mod, i cant seem to drag my mouse to continue placing the wedges/pyramids and inverse. I don't know if this is part of the mod, or if I'm doing something wrong. I would appreciate feedback. I am waiting for the creations that this update will design. Now there are almost no limits with blocks. I'm exited to follow the journey and the game as it progresses.
Do these half blocks and thin wedges have the same volume as their counterpart vanilla blocks. For instance using the super thin block to make a custom fuel tank, will it actually act by increasing the liquid volume of the space for half the size?

The devs shouls have implemented a search bar in the inventory then. Hell I was asking for ingame folders so creations could be categorized.
The paintable modular engines mod and the diagonal pipes lets us make wayy nicer looking outboard engines!

RIGHT! I do too... It makes so much sense and feels so right

This is making me like the simplicity of vanilla stormworks

yes, because they dont have the time to make an update every 3 days

@@beanis87 i would love to know where you heard this, because the devs sure haven't told us.
@@dompan9169 arent u reading the updates to the game? They have said multiple times that they go to school and that the game isnt their main focus
31:28 So what you’re saying is, we can make giant hamster balls that look really good.
With parts like this, stormworks could probably out live it's own active development

I'm guessing this is hardcoded functionality just for the original wedge/pyramid blocks, mods can't add this on their own

they acted like wedges from the vanilla from my testing.
@ would be nice to see them act in a way that almost doubles the liquid amount for the same if not a little smaller size.

I tested early access and it broke my mods from the mod loader where everything has been running for several years now
Early bird are we, eh?
A bit late, mod is a few years old 😅
New to the "official" mod support :) So now it is mainstream!
разрабы косорукие, не ужели все это было трудно сделать? да людям надо приплачивать за моды (((
