Great song and was filmed mainly in Inala. Used to live one kilometre up the road in Forest Lake. Chris is one of those talents who had originality all over him. RIP mate. Thanks for the songs that will always ring in my head. Way too soon. I used to drive down Progress Road every shift to work in the big house.
I had the privilege of seeing the late, great Chris Bailey open for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds back in 2003 in Toronto, Canada. He did a brief acoustic set which was like 5 songs or so - one was Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" and he ended with "Just Like Fire Would." I was elated b/c I was a Saints fan and love this song so much, but almost no one in the crowd cared about his set. He didn't respond negatively to the apathy; instead, he finished up and said, referring to the Bad Seeds, "You're about to see the best fucking rock n roll band on earth - you lucky bastards!" and then left the stage. What a classy guy. RIP.
I grew up next door to this singer. He was a nice gentle person, given the environment he had to endure as we did. My best friend was his niece Samantha, she was left in the care of his mother Bridgette was a kind woman. 100 Frangipani Street, Inala would have been in his memory for his life as 98 is in mine. I hope you enjoyed booze, food and all the fruits of life my neighbour, as you deserved it. Sorry I was only a kid when you guys where in that place banging out Stranded, it should have been heard by people with love for your music. xxx
The first band to put Brisbane on the Music Map. Brilliant song, brilliant band, BRILLIANT frontman. The Saints have lost a Saint but heaven has gained one.
Who’s still listening to this song in 2050
Should have been a huge hit. One of Australia’s best lyricists. RIP CB.
I just looked up the word 'underrated" and there was The Saints
The video for this song is pure Queensland.

RIP, Chris Bailey. What a voice, what a songwriter.
With all due respect this all over the Boss's cover. In this case the original really is the best. Vale Chris Bailey.
R.I.P Chris Bailey . Brilliant song ,always transports me back to my youth travelling around Australia in the mid 80's.

Chris Bailey has passed
Just here to pay my respects to this legendary Brisbane Boy and listen to a classic

The Saints deserved much more commercial success in Australia and overseas. A truly outstanding band.
What an amazing song
I just introduced the residents of my retirement village to the saints
Rest In Peace Chris Bailey, you will be missed
Sad. But what a legacy. His footsteps will be marked and followed.
