- Several months ago I stood on the sidewalk weeping, thinking of my friend and her sister, who'd just been in a terrible skydiving accident. And then I felt this song coming, so I raced home and recorded it. Here is a live, very human recording for you. :) I hope this song meets you wherever you are.

Wow! So beautiful! I felt like this recently. Jesus was faithful to show me He was in the valley with me and all my doubts, questions, numbness and emptiness. He restored a tiny spark of hope that became a flame. He is faithful! 💗 I got some serious chills listening to this because it was so similar. Beautiful!
When God made your voice, Audrey, the mold was broken! This was absolutely beautiful, like everything you sing!
Knowing the path you are on now, I am grateful for your vulnerability, authenticity, and honesty. Just found this song after feeling the pain of this week from Nashville. I also work in health care and daily see so much suffering. I have had my own pain and loss. Many of us have been terribly wounded by organized religion. I have been down the path where my beliefs have been tried and shaken. I have to say that there is a place where in the stillness, Jesus speaks to me. I am on a path of rediscovery and longing for the peace that surpasses the understanding of this broken world that can be so cruel. I do believe you are anointed to sing a message that is a balm to this world. Your words in this song speak to the human soul seeking to be heard by the One who is Love. Even in my doubt, I know that I know that I know....Love. Thank you for giving us this beautiful song which came from your heart filled with pain. It truly speaks to my heart.

Through an incredibly difficult season for me Audrey's songs have been a tremendous source of peace and strength. May the Lord continue to pour Himself through you to others!
So beautiful, so tender, so raw... Your song brought me back to a time in my life where despite all my efforts to give everything of who I was to God in real and concrete ways, it felt like He had rejected that offer, and in some ways, me as well. I had a choice at that moment, to keep moving in the dark toward Him, or to allow the darkness to envelop me without him. By His grace, He met me in a way only He could orchestrate, and let me know He was right there with me, truly weeping with me. That encounter provided the basis for the last 37 years where I have seen his Providence, protection and direction helping me to engage in a life with Him and in this world beyond anything I could have asked or imagined. He is faithful, and when we are in the dark, His light shatters the darkness and gives us new vision as we go forth one step at a time, as he walks with us for eternity.
Amen. Thank you for expressing what I may not have so well articulated. Though I’m far from where you are, I trust that I’ll get there. He’s so good! ❣️🙏

My pleasure. Yes..to every word. I’m so thankful for Him, and for those He uses to encourage and inspire me to keep moving toward Him! No matter how slow it is (or seems), I know that it’s beyond worth getting past the obstacles and all the distraction’s in this life. I want all of the good things that He has to offer, esp. peace, joy and freedom, and I 🙏 that I don’t settle for less. Anything else is merely existing, and He didn’t sacrifice Himself for that. The questions that you had regarding your faith are attacks from the father of lies. his only device is just that, too. I am praying for you. Wow. Just wow. A gift wrapped up just for me from my papa daddy on a day I desperately needed to hear from Him. I’ve suffered from Lyme disease for 2 years with a “body on fire” and feeling like my “mind is going to leave me.” These are words I’ve wept many nights. Resting in His promises even when I cannot see them. Begging and pleading for a reprieve from the pain and He says be still, I’ve got this, I’m holding tighter than you can comprehend. Beautiful words 💕

I thought of this song as my dog was dying. He was put down at home and I kept thinking of the line got my arms around all I desire my body's on fire and I can't keep still... I paraphrasing, but yeah, it's stupid cause it's about my dog BUT HE MATTERED, EVEN LITTLE LIVES MATTER and he didn't want to let go
And it's crazy it's crazy but I keep smelling him periodically.
He represented an entire era of my life and it's all gone.
It's official. I even lost my dog.
There is no reason to be running. No reason to be hectic and busy. Being still is the best gift given to us by the Divine. That’s when we connect, love, forgive, and reawaken our souls.

How do you sing praises to god at such a time like that. ..so she sang about her pain to God, channeling hrr greif and anger to the heavens to find solace. Sometimes hes the one i have to tell my deepest hurts.

Audrey, a lot of us may have heard of your leaving the faith, but that door is still open for you. Whatever your experiences with people or priests or imperfect humans, God is above it all.
I don’t know her story or experience, so I can’t & won’t comment on that, but as someone who also left organized religion behind, there is little more tone deaf and victim-blamey an argument than the “imperfect human” defense of religion. I wish Christians, many of them no doubt well-intentioned, knew how much damage that argument does to their cause… and to the people on the receiving end of it.

Been a fan since day 1 and have bought nearly everything you've ever put out into the world; merch, tickets, Kickstarter Campaigns and, of course, all of your music. This, along with Kind and Honest are the two best songs you've had in years...since your album, Evergreen. When it's you and a piano/keyboard, you can NEVER go wrong. Your most recent offerings such as your covers or your EP including Island that was released a couple of years ago---they are filled with ambient sounds, programmed instruments and it is hard to feel moved at a deep level by any of that; it feels rushed, a bit cold and it sounds as if they were done 'on the cheap". Be Still and K and H are lyrically, melodically exactly where I hope you take your next album(hopefully, you also use real instruments...your voice and enormous talent should never settle...anything short of the real deal feels like a waste). I haven't been this excited about your music in awhile and hearing these two songs makes me realize you are still in the game, and maybe, better than ever! I look forward to your new record, Audrey.
