I would clear the property line and put back the fence in the original area. Please don't change the property line as you may regret it later. It will take a bit longer but I think its the right way to do it. Good luck you are doing an awesome job 👏 👍.
Good morning Jacob please put a camera near that hole to see what animal lives in it before you put your animals in that pasture if its a dangerous predator I would let him relocate to the sweet bye and bye 👋
Trust judge Judy. She put up a fence on her property line so that her neighbor couldn't claim the land. Check your local property laws. Put in the extra work and reclaim your property before someone else does.
Everything else your family does is neat n clean! You have spent a lot of time lately neatly doing everything! I am 78 years old n it doesn’t get easier! I suggest doing it right in the beginning… You will be so proud. Every property owner wants the property lines defined… from survey to survey to survey to survey lines… Those dead trees will fall across new fence, cut the trees, run bushhog n neaten up as you go!!! Don’t half ass it!!!
If you make a fence that leaves some of YOUR property on THEIR side, after a certain number of years they can claim that "foot" as their property. Different counties and states have different rules about how long that takes. Be careful giving up property (even if inaccessible currently)!
The property line is established per county record. Keep the tree line because you have animals. The tree line will keep them safer. You can clean up as you go when things settle down a bit. Too much work right now. You're doing great. I'm so proud of you, COWBOY Jake 🤠
It might be a good idea to move in and leave enough room for your tractor. It would be a good DMZ, you could mow or brush hog it and be able to check your fences and property line. I would also put up some private property signs too (if they’re not already there)😊 Just my thoughts though! The beauty of having your own property is being able to do whatever the heck you want right! 🇺🇸
I would actually take off about 10 feet that way you could bush hog down the side and in case tree falls maybe it will miss your fence and easy cleanup just my opinion Jake 👍
I say get someone over there with you and test the tree by pushing it back on the other land. Keep the old area as is and build on your side. Use the woods as a dmz and only move any thing in danger of falling on your new fence.
I would move the fence line in like ya wanna do Jake. Tht way if something happens to ur fence line and u need to be on the other side of it then u wouldn’t have to ask permission from anyone because it would still be ur property and u could go to the other side to do whatever needs to be done 👍🏻
I was always told fences are suppose to be three feet inside your property… I’m in Louisiana… I think you should loose the foot to save your back… remember there will be lots of roots also that close to the trees…
Unless you’re willing to put in a lot of time and effort to clean up that foot of land, put the fence in a foot. Even Lester is thinking of fencing off some of the JL because it’s a swampy mess when they have heavy rains. You still have a lot of good pasture if you lose a foot.❤️🇨🇦
I say clean up the fence line then repair/replace the fence. Even if you move the fence inward, you will still need to clear the fence line (and keep it cleared).
You are looking at more like a yard or more. But you would have a nice clean fence line that you could easily mow with your brush hog. But take down that old rotten tree before it becomes a hazard. Lots of work ahead for you. But take your time and do it right. Best wishes to you 😊
Can you push that tree over💪🏼🤠 / ? What about asking Funcle Lester to have a gander? No harm in getting an opinion, shared thoughts or ideas that you may not have considered. Have a Great evening.
First that tree needs to come down either way. The chances of it falling on your fence is up there. Bringing your fence out a foot is like putting a buffer zone between your property and the other, talk to Lester about the boundary legalities that you may run into. (Like on the J&L Ranch) the fox or whatever is in the den you found depending on Texas gaming laws and regulations, leave alone unless it becomes a nuisance. It may be controlling your rodent issues.
Your uncle Lester keeps a second fence line I think it’s a great idea ex specially if there’s hunting or gun fire on the the other side Plus it would save so much time and money whichever you do will be the best one for you’s 🙏✌🏽💞🎶
Hi Jake,I 'm not sure about laws in the USA, but if you forfit it now, it could be your loss in the long run, the neighbours you have now might be good but you have to think later down the line, it could be a problem. You've made such a great job over at Morrow Hill just recently, things built to last, and now this is all yours and Lyssa's, best to do this to 110% as its your future and you dont want to be coming back in 5yrs time say and having to do it all over again. Best to save up, and do it right the first time. I'm sure if you ask Uncle Lester hedbring his big tractor over with bush hog and help get a clean boundary line for you.❤❤❤
You definitely need to clear dead trees to prevent falling trees and possible injuries to people / animals or structures. Overgrowth needs to be dealt with, critters hide, have homes. Sometimes you need to clear the land
Jake, don't change the property line. Build you fence along it or someone else will claim it. You can always build another fence, DMZ, inside your property line but keep the existing fence where it is.
to prevent the wire from being incased in the trees. take a small block of wood on the side of the tree and attach the fence to that. if they say that your boarder is a fenceline you can encroachment from neighbors. if they sell and youd moved fence the new neighbors might not respect that propertyline .
I would build a new fence or of the woodlands but you also need to be careful so you don't lose that property or you have to prove that is yours later on when the people on the other side say it's their's. I'm not saying they will just saying be careful with that situation.
I'd say replace the fence where it is. I would suggest you talk to a real estate lawyer about any complications it might cause in the future if you move the fence line.
Eventually, years down the road, the neighbors will claim your land. It happens ALL the time. It actually happened to my dad's property. Yes, it may have been a ditch, but thst 5-foot span was taken over, making the neighbors property bigger, and yes, my dad didn't fight the neighbor on it he just kept it go. So Jake, this is now part of owning land. You make sure you secure every bit of it because you are paying taxes on it, and you want to be sure you keep what's yours. If you want to save your back, then don't do any work problem solved
You should clean out the brush maybe hire a person to mulch it down. If not you may end up with all kind of problems if your neighbor ever decides to sell or if you sell the property years from now.
Whatever you decide, I'd take down that leaning tree before you start the fence so that I doesn't fall on the fence or anyone later. It probably won't be standing much longer, and it will be easier to bring down now than later.
Clean it all up now. Do it right the first time because you'll probably just have to go back and do it over later. Ask yourself this question do you want your kids playing in the yard with all that growth and filled up and animals and vermin? Plus some of those batteries could fall and tear down your fence and you have to end up building the fence again. Do it right the first time. It will take longer it will be hard work but it will give you a tremendous amount of pride. Don't mess around with the property lines put your fence where it belongs. 1:24
What happens if you don't address the problems now and you go ahead and move over a foot, when those problems start to worsen and take out your new fencing later. That not good 😮😢
I would lose the foot and keep yourself safe. Maybe bring your Dad over and ask for his advice? You can still do your own thing either way. Personally I’d leave well alone 🤔
Yes,I would clean up the fence line. WHY,IFYOU DO It right THE FIRST TIME, you can have the satisfaction of not having to keep going in and patching it up.Not to say anything bad about the home place,it seems the family is always having to patch up the fence line in the trees.
New property why would you start off doing things half-way? Keep your property line as is because it needs cleaning up anyway and it will continue to grow and grow so you going to build a new fence every time? No way! So just do it right the first and you will be so proud you did!
Take down dangerous trees before fencing. Run the new fence in cleared area. Paint survey lines with permanent paint and keep them marked. When it ever needs resurveyed it will prove you intentionally moved the fence in, did not surrender it.
Property lines are determined by survey stakes, not fence lines. Don't finish buying it without a new survey. Those fence lines could bewrong. Chad Doss, Doss Farms, had a new survey done on his 40 acres and there were substantial differences. Surveys are more accurate now than decades ago. Then decide on fences. You must have a new survey.
Don’t change the property line by building inside the boundary. Someday you might need to prove that land is yours.
I'm sure he did a survey.
You're right
Trust judge Judy. She put up a fence on her property line so that her neighbor couldn't claim the land. Check your local property laws. Put in the extra work and reclaim your property before someone else does.
I would loose the foot and save your back !
The land is documented the fence doesn't determine your line.
Everything else your family does is neat n clean! You have spent a lot of time lately neatly doing everything! I am 78 years old n it doesn’t get easier! I suggest doing it right in the beginning… You will be so proud. 💫💫 Clear it now. 💫💫

❤🎉 Jake ask your Uncle Lester ok? He owns two properties besides Morrow Hill so has lots of experience in fencing, boundaries, DMZ, laws, etc..!! ❤😊
bad idea jake.put the hard work in and claim your land mate.
It might be a good idea to move in and leave enough room for your tractor. It would be a good DMZ, you could mow or brush hog it and be able to check your fences and property line. I would also put up some private property signs too (if they’re not already there)😊

Do not move the post with ribbons. If you leave it it’s a good DMZ zone. Plus it would be safer for you and animals
Property line. Sorry about the extra work.
Hawk got his dinner
Please don’t poison your rat infestation, it will trickle down to the birds 🦅 ❤️
I would go for it loose the foot. It isn’t gonna be a big deal.
But it’s still your land!! You paid for it! Clear it!
Yes I would lose a foot. It is yours, that doesn't mean you have to fence it in, It will still be yours unfenced
I would actually take off about 10 feet that way you could bush hog down the side and in case tree falls maybe it will miss your fence and easy cleanup just my opinion Jake 👍
Great Choice Jake 😊
Good idea! Make it easier on yourself.
DMZ zones work. So save yourself some back pain
Thats a lot more than one foot. But do what you want. Its all yours!
Cut the brush and trees, keep your property line correct.
I say get someone over there with you and test the tree by pushing it back on the other land. Keep the old area as is and build on your side. Use the woods as a dmz and only move any thing in danger of falling on your new fence.
MY concern would be if the dead trees would fall on your new fence.😊
I would move the fence line in like ya wanna do Jake. Tht way if something happens to ur fence line and u need to be on the other side of it then u wouldn’t have to ask permission from anyone because it would still be ur property and u could go to the other side to do whatever needs to be done 👍🏻
Are you able to put property boundary flags marking your actual property, then build your fence?
In MO folks have purple flags and/ or purple painted rings on trees for markers and no trespassing.
I think it’s just. SMART. ❤❤❤😂 A LITTLE SCARY JAKE. NEW FENCE. GREAT IDEA.
I was always told fences are suppose to be three feet inside your property… I’m in Louisiana… I think you should loose the foot to save your back… remember there will be lots of roots also that close to the trees…

Step out enough to mowe boath sides to keep it from growing up on your fence again
I say clean up the fence line then repair/replace the fence. Even if you move the fence inward, you will still need to clear the fence line (and keep it cleared).

Lose a foot. It will still be your land.
New fence to create a DMZ. I know thats money and time but easier IMO.
Can you push that tree over💪🏼🤠 / ? What about asking Funcle Lester to have a gander? No harm in getting an opinion, shared thoughts or ideas that you may not have considered.
Have a Great evening.
I would keep a fence on your legal property line.
Yes that’s a good idea Jake . Save your back and lose a foot!
I’ve put up fencing at my home and I would never build right on the property line. I love my wooded barrier .
That would be what Lester calls the dmz zone 😅
Yes save your back, you have plenty of land.
I would lose that foot. It’s almost making a wooded DMZ as Lester would say.
Possibly a DMZ area so it can be mowed in the clear area. Then when your children... ..JacobJr is old enough he could help clean up the brush area
I’d loose a foot. Better safe than sorry right 😊 God bless and have a wonderful day 😊
Lose a foot and save your back, why make more work for your self when you have so much to do . ❤😂😂❤😂
Your uncle Lester keeps a second fence line
I think it’s a great idea ex specially if there’s hunting or gun fire on the the other side

It's your property! Do whatever you feel is best
Ask uncle Wester! He would either agree, or give you a good reasons not to move the fence farther into the pasture.😉
Lose the foot and save your back.
I would step out a foot! Called extra fence to help keep them in
Ask yr uncle Lester. He would know. What about the dmz zone ?
Keep you property line where it is. More work but clearing out the old trees and bush is also safer.
You definitely need to clear dead trees to prevent falling trees and possible injuries to people / animals or structures. Overgrowth needs to be dealt with, critters hide, have homes. Sometimes you need to clear the land

I would build it out one foot.
Step out Foot.😊
I would just make sure my property line is very prominent. So that the neighbors can't come and try to take it over
Good idea, ask ur uncle..
Save your back😊
Save yourself the trouble and loose that foot Jake
Great idea. Loose the foot. ❤
How to build it about 10 feet out that gives you a room to start cleaning the area
Eventually, years down the road, the neighbors will claim your land. It happens ALL the time. It actually happened to my dad's property. If you want to save your back, then don't do any work problem solved
Makes sense to me Jake. That could be the no go zone.
Sorry me again, wouldn't it be good to clear it to save all the new fencing.Just my thought..
You should clean out the brush maybe hire a person to mulch it down. If not you may end up with all kind of problems if your neighbor ever decides to sell or if you sell the property years from now.
Leave if for now. Then when you have the most pressing projects finished you can address that area.
Jake, if you didnt already, you NEED to get a survey done
Honestly I would cut it back because it will continue to ecrouch into your land but I understand your reasons for lose a foot and save your back ❤
Good ideal
Build your fence on the neatest side and you will gain a DMZ…I would also put a nice big trap out there to catch whatever is living down that hole.
You also need to find out for Texas how many feet it is you own off that property line? I know states are different!
CLEAN IT OUT!!! You won’t be sorry!!!!
It's a great idea to build on clear land. The DMC is needed.
And if you're concerned about your boundary lines, you still have those stakes a foot in, not to mention GPS.
Yes. Even a tractor so you could ways cut grass and keep the always clean and cut
Loose the foot no worries 😊❤
Demilitarized zone
Whatever you decide, I'd take down that leaning tree before you start the fence so that I doesn't fall on the fence or anyone later. It probably won't be standing much longer, and it will be easier to bring down now than later.
Good idea! The falling down fence will be a DMZ
I would step out and then when you have time clean that mess up, but do it when you have time
What happens if you don't address the problems now and you go ahead and move over a foot, when those problems start to worsen and take out your new fencing later. That not good 😮😢
If you move the fence in, the area behind the fence will become more overgrown and even worse. I think you should put in the effort now.
If it were me I would lose a foot
Don't wait your time with it leave it alone
I would lose the foot and keep yourself safe. Maybe bring your Dad over and ask for his advice? You can still do your own thing either way. Personally I’d leave well alone 🤔
Yes,I would clean up the fence line.
WHY,IFYOU DO It right THE FIRST TIME, you can have the satisfaction of not having to keep going in and patching it up.Not to say anything bad about the home place,it seems the family is always having to patch up the fence line in the trees.
Ask Lester. You might ultimately lose that foot legally after so many years of the fence existing. Don't know in Texas.
Well, Lester built his fences out at the J&L, calling the space in between a dmz. May be a good idea if you have future neighbors.
What are the laws of your state? Some states you lose that property to the over time LE
Just step out a foot. If you want to do it later you can so you can get other stuff done quicker
Lose the foot Jake.....
Good idea!
Keep the old fence and when you build the new one a foot in you have a DMZ like you had on the hill.
Do your research on Texas property line fencing laws before making a decision.
Step out
The over growth will form a hedge. A nature fence.
