After Stanmer Park we relocate to a quiet spot for a RIDGEMONKEY lunch of cheese on toast.
WE try out our new IPAD HOLDER to watch RUclips while relaxing on the bed.
As the evening draws In we head off in search of food and fancy a walk along the seafront and Brighton Pier. Unfortunately our plans have to change as Ken spots a problem.
We head up to Devil’s Dyke to catch the sunset Instead.
The following morning after a successful test of our NEW VAN BEDDING we visit Brighton City Airport, Shoreham. We are too early for lunch but breakfast in the Hummingbird Restaurant does very nicely while we watch the planes.
Next, another of our favourite haunts, Shoreham Old Fort where we set up our chairs against the wind to watch the sailboats and swimmers.

As a Aussie my immediate instinctual reaction on seeing the dog and people swimming in that inlet was "sharks!". In Oz that sort of inlet is often the haunt of dangerous bull sharks. Then a nanosecond later I relaxed and was jealous of the ability to safely swim in that sort of area.

Interesting places you visit, along with the food experiences. Loved the Shoreham airport with its art deco buildings. Keep up the excellent work. Reminds me somewhat of Napier NZ with its profusion of art deco buildings, the town had to be almost totally rebuilt after a devastating earthquake. Innisfail Queensland is similar, that town had to be rebuilt after a massive cyclone struck.

Oh Look, there's the Shetland Trader all the way south... I sometimes spot her coursing the Clyde and she's often over in the Forth. Yes, I guessed it - a new bed layer and it does indeed look comfy. Now, let me tell you about my experience with the Citroen 2CV (of 45 years back)... the one for which it was necessary to carry a hammer at one's side in order to tap the solenoid everytime one wished to start the engine...and a spare pair of tights for the fanbelt shredding it tended to do... and its tendency to have the control pedals detach themselves from the levers they were intended to control. I suspect any of the original chassis still on the road will have had a complete engine replacement and reworking of the pedals! Just going to the shops was an epic adventure. YAM xx

I'm a van driving tradesman and my van has been broken into 5 times and i've had 2 cats cut off, each costing £1100 to replace. I have become totally paranoid where i park my van but the reality is, the people who commit these crimes really don't give a jot where a vehicle is parked, what time of day it is and even the amount of people around. Vehicle break in's used to be a night-time thing, one of my cats got cut off in the middle of the day on a residential side street with lots of people around. It's very depressing.

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  Год назад +1

You hit the nail on the head. Crime has become so brazen that time of day and witnesses are irrelevant to them. I used to work burglary and vehicle crime in plain clothes in Brighton. 6 of us on a dedicated team who would just cruise around spotting them in action. We reduced those crimes to almost nothing over the course of one year but that was before more weird things became the priority. I feel for you having suffered all that. It’s a disgrace.

You need a cargo net to stop your pillows falling out when you open that boot! We use a simple £10 one from Amazon which we attach to the headrests using small carabiners and a screwed on clip either side at the base of the rear seat. Works a treat and keeps our bedding contained and tidy. Very tempted by that wool mattress topper!

Double mattress toppers should be nice and comfy, its amazing how much bedding you can fit into your little red camper. Had to laugh (even though it isn't funny) you reminded me of Bri who would always spot glass like that on road sides and in car parks, "We're not parking here!" 😊👍

Interesting to hear about crime increasing in the run up to Christmas. My first thought was crime in relation to Brighton's high drug use.

Without a doubt drugs drive up petty crime in order to fund their use. At the moment though many people just can’t make ends meet and desperate times leads to desperate measures.

( the food is very nice in there) They used to be some of our local places to visit. Wool Room stuff is great. We have the topper and duvet on our bed at home. Love it. Unusual to see timid geese. Nice look at Shoreham Airfield . Not been there. That little bird❤️ lovely shot of the back of you both. It’s tough when bits stop working and start dropping off🤣 enjoyed the boat/water sequence. Well spotted Ken about the glass. You haven't lost your policing ways. Seems to be rife lately in regards to car break-in's and theft. Like you said it's the sign of the times we are in. Good vlog as always. The insects were probably Moths as i noticed there wings were flapping fast, could be wrong. May have been dragon flies. If i was in a Camper and a big Furry Moth got in, i would be in hysterics and the Camper would look like a crime scene. 🤣🤣🤣❤️

flip the bread once and then add the cheese to the warm already toasted side. It's the same trick I use to make my regular pan-fried grilled cheese SUPER crunchy and yummy (plus pimento cheese/Paprikakäse or a tsp of cream cheese right in the middle, before I put the two toasted sides together. :-) Enjoying your travels!

    Hi Carol and Ken,
We have only recently found your channel and me and the missus are binge watching 5 episodes per night and thoroughly enjoying them, we have a love affair with France also.
As we saw in a previous episode you love Corned Beef Hash, I thought you might like to try our version that was taught to us by an old Jamaican chap.
I know you said you like spice in a previous episode so I’ll leave to quantity of chilli 🌶️ up to you:
    1 onion
    1 large clove of garlic
    1 tin of sweetcorn
    1 sweet pepper
1 large potato (cubed and par boiled)
    1 large handful of pea’s
1 small bunch of spring onions
1 scotch bonnet chilli 🌶️ (start with half and see how you go)
    1 tin of corned beef
    Salt
    Black pepper
Cook more or less the way you cook your version, give it a shot guys!
    Keep up the great work.
    Kind regards
    Tony

Hi guys. Thanks for sharing that. We had a similar experience in Liverpool in the summer. I was about to park up and Claud spotted a load of broken glass on the road and suggested we avoid the spot. Very good advice. Cheese on toast is THE best comfort food there is, no argument! Could those flying bugs be Hummingbird Hawk Moths? We have Hummingbird Moths here in upstate New York. They look and behave very much like small hummingbirds, dipping in and out of wildflowers, with their wings buzzing audibly. The only way I could convince myself that they were not birds was they had long, black antennae. They are amazing to watch.
Great video! I loved watching everyone enjoying themselves around and in the water. ❤
