BB King said "Most Guitarists play words, I play sentences, Stevie Ray Vaughan plays paragraphs" The keyboard player Reese Wynans, in the world of blues, is a genuine master. He was a member of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. Reese was in that iconic band from 1985 until Vaughan's tragic death in 1990, bringing his rich keyboard textures to the Soul to Soul and In Step records. RIP SRV

Yep, you said it….Stevie was gift from God. He blessed us with his talent for a short time but I don’t think he’ll ever be forgotten. I’m just glad he got clean & turned his life around. From a few accounts he turned himself over to Jesus, which is comforting to know. Great reaction!

Reese Wynans on keyboards. He joined Double Trouble in 1985. All four were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in about 2012. This is from their 1989 appearance on Austin City Limits. Just about any song from this show is fire. Several of them show off Reese's talent. I recommend Look at Little Sister, Riviera Paradise, Couldn't Stand the Weather, Voodoo Child.

Hi Debbie! Love your reactions! Stevie is without a doubt one of the Top Tier greatest guitar players that has ever lived. He does another song at this concert and he breaks a string. He switches out guitars in the middle of the song without missing a note. At about the 2:40 mark in the video the string breaks and you can actually see it floating in the air. He keeps playing the song without ever missing anything. His guitar tech brings him another guitar and he changes out, and it doesn't even phase him. That is the sign of a True Professional. Have a great day!

He was the most passionately committed player I've ever seen. His touch was incredible and had so many different aspects to his skill sets. Please, please react to his composition of Riveria Paradise from this same concert🙏🎸🎶‼️. It is a song he wrote after his own rehab and recovery and he dedicates it to all those still out there suffering in any way. The most accurate thing I ever heard said about Stevie was from another guitar god *Eric Clapton* ! When he first saw him in person Eric said "Stevie doesn't play he *channels* music thru him.!

I don't know if you noticed, but sometimes he will pull on a metal bar, called a whammy bar, down at the bridge of the guitar and this moves all of the strings up or down to create those bends and wobbles in the sound. Doing that tends to get the strings out of tune because they get stretched and released, just like when you put new strings on a guitar -- you have to keep increasing the tension while playing until it holds at the right tone. So I think he's just kicking a string back to the correct tuning. And yes, it does seem like magic.

Stevie asked Jimi Hendrix' dad if it was ok that he played Jimi's song, Voo Doo Chile. Mr. Hendrix not only gave SRV permission, but he also gave him Jimi' Wah-Wah pedal -- or maybe that's the Whammy bar ?

Sometimes, like in the live recording of little wing for example, he would just go into a trance and start playing off key some weird tangent playing so fast, and the band band would just have to play notes that made no sense and try to keep up, and then he snap out of it, and look over to the band and start laughing... he was definitely a guitar genius. That's Reese Wynams -- truly a far-out keyboardist: Only the BEST get to play with SRV and Double Trouble. And Chris & Tommy were glad to invite Reese to join 'em. Each of those men said playing with SRV was the best experience of their musical lives and they loved playing with each other, even when they were broke. You are hearing the best... he loved the black blues guitarists/singers and learned how to play their songs--and then got to play with them -Albert King, B.B. King, *** Oh, the adjustments are turning the keys to tighten the strings, looser lowers the pitch , tighter heightens the pitch/notes. Oh, sometimes he says Express Yourself, as well as Tisket Tasket. How are you gonna sleep tonight? ; -) *** Many guys who have heard lots of rock 'n roll music are also speechless. They say, just like you say, what can I say to that? *** One more thang, then I'll stop. Not human, an alien, etc..... well I say SRV IS what being Human Can Be, altho not everyone is obvious like this, but it's about Passion for your experience in the moment, and hard work to learn how to do so damn well, always open to learning, and so humble but thrilled others are moved by what he loves so much to do. I often hear that word used to describe people who have ideas, things, work they are passionate about and usually that effects others. Love being with you on your amazing experiences!

The whole band were on another level....Stevie always gave equal praise to the band members and refused to drop them when David Bowie tried to get him to!
SRV played on Bowies Lets Dance Album...one of his most successful...and was promised his band could tour with Bowie (with SRV doing guitar for Bowie when he performed) ...unfortunately Bowie had no intention of having Double Trouble on the bill...prob realised they were better lol ...Stevie then refused to tour alone as Bowies guitarist...when Bowie toured alot of people were very annoyed when no Stevie appeared but a replacement! Some boo'd lol...Stevie could have seen it as a golden opportunity but he was loyal to his band ❤ RIP SRV 🙏
