Ancient TV producer/director (albeit small time) that I once was; this is extraordinarily superlative work. History made alive. You all are to be congratulated for this exceptional video. Well done.
Do you know real trace canyon help get touch with him he lose a lots fan by the imposter to so I need to talk him it very impotant get touch with him to can please help me out
I just visited this section of the battlefield in June 2024. It has been a long time since I had been there. My family has a Civil War veteran in our past history. Henry Oler. Pvt in the 30th Ohio volunteers. He was mortally wounded at Mission Ridge, Tenn - by a shot grazing his heart. Some official documents from the Dept. of Interior dated circa 1912 of a widow's pension my mother found while researching our family genealogy dating back to the early 1700's. You just never know what you will find until you go looking.
Absolutely love the connection of past and present via photo overlays. Creates a deep sense of the past re-emerging into timeless moments in the present. Gary has a masterful understanding and passion for this. Many thanks!
This was one of the most magical videos you have produced. You did a fantastic job bringing these photos to life for the viewers. I know AI is looked down upon by many, but it is the perfect tool to bring the Battle of Gettysburg to “life” telling the story with images and movement. Thank you for this video.
@@AmericanBattlefieldTrustI apologize for not being clear…I understand that AI was not used in this creation; but what if AI was used to bring to life-not still life, but the life, action and motion from these photos as well as the drawings and descriptions of battles. We live in a world of visuals, imagine recreating the charging Confederates, not as a game, but as AI photorealistic figures. Anyway, that is my dream. I love history and have been a student of the Civil War virtually my entire life. Sharing that love with others in a medium that more could see is a wonderful hope. The work done by Garry and the Trust (like this video) is invaluable in keeping safe our past for our future.
I step away for a while and try to digest all of our nations history and the demands our brothers of that time had ahead of them….its truly something that should never be forgotten! God bless ABT for keeping these battlefields and these lives alive!
Good match up of photographs with the location today. I've visited Devil's Den on two occasions and when I see these photographs, I can't describe how strange it feels knowing that Gardner and I have not only been there but that he once walked the same streets of my home town in Scotland that I have walked.
I have always believed that the Battle of Gettysburg is something I would have wanted to be part of. What a monumental event! Assuming I knew I would survive of course.
This is awesome, but one thing I have found missing from all modern commentary on this, and other, battlefields, is a sense of how many soldiers were involved when you talk about units. How many men fought over the area in question.
Over the last few years the Valley of Death has become a series of large beaver ponds. Does the Park Service have any plans to restore it to it's battlefield state?
To me, Table Rock looks like a snake head from certain angles when I visited Gettysburg. I wonder if this is where the Devil's Den snake story came from.
Mr. Adelman...Garry...you say you've sat on that special rock shown in this video "thousands of times" over the past 35 years. How extraordinary that seems to me! That averages more than once a week for even 2,000 times. Are there any other particular places in other battlefields to which you've devoted so much attention? I assume there must be. Perhaps in Gettysburg itself? Very curious. Love your shows, by the way.
Top notch editing, this is how draw people into history.

Live 45 minutes away and go to Gettysburg often. DD is my favorite spot by far.
ABT is one of the best channels on all of U-Tube. Brilliant work.
Thanks Gary, all of you are appreciated. Merry Christmas!
I can’t heap enough praise on these videos. This might be the best one yet.
Fantastic! Just found this page! Great stuff!!
Oh wow - just great before and after stuff, I love it.

@@richardglady3009 no AI is used in this video. All created by editors and animators!

Very interesting. One of my ancestors was a sharpshooter in a Georgia unit at Gettysburg.
This was great!! I love these old photos. They bring everything back to life when you study them. Thank you Gary for doing this. 👍💙
Thank you guys for everything you do!
This my favorite place to visit. My very favorite place is Gettysburg. Love live true History.

I love this style of education. You guys are knocking it out of the park with these VR video series. Thank you!
Thanks Gary and team!
It's top notch stuff when you can blend in a photo from the past and tie it into the current spot of today. That will never get old with me.
Garry a great short on Valley of death in Devil’s Den. And sharing these photos.
💯👊👍 Happy Holidays 🌲

These are great segments ABT!! THANK YOU
I absolutely love this. It is so interesting.
Amazing!
You look so historic, Garry!
Love this!!!
Awesome!
My ancestor fought with the 99th PA- Company B. Sgt David Alva Barnett from York County PA.
That was amazing wish it was longer
I was there in 1997, and it was much more grown up; trees and brush have really been cut back.
NPS recently renovated the area.
Watching from England , really informative , I hope one day to visit .
These videos are brilliant !!!
Love it, ty
Excellent.
Amazing Garry! V

Has the Little Round Top restoration been completed?
Yes!

"Rock" on, Garry!
@@jankovarik9714 thank you!
You got Trace Adkins to do the voice over for ABT since being in your prior video! Nice!
Been to several Civil War battlefields, including Gettysburg. Live near Chickamauga. And I have heard cannon fire and voices on the Battlefield.
Will they cut down the trees around the slaughter pen area to restore it to its 1863 appearance?
I hope not because souls be dammed nature aka life will always find a way
Brilliant!!!
I wish this was on the History channel
no link in description ;(

Thanks!
My wife’s g-g-grandfather fought there with the 44th Alabama.
Been there. A spiritual place.
An extra comment to help boost the RUclips algorithm!
👍
Why I contribute to the trust.
You have to be there to realize there were some 130000 soldiers ( or more) in a Small Area ? Must have been Bedlam ! 🧐
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
What Waud was smelling must have been horrid.
Love the beavers! Maybe you can dress them up as Union and Confederate soldiers and have them reenact the battle!!!😜🤣😂
