I misspoke, the live show for Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell will be on the 11th August, not the 16th!

Did not know that the Lacuna was about Frid Kahlo and Diego Riveira! Sounds fascinating- will be adding it to my tbr! I'm very tempted to try and read Jonathan Strange before your live show. I have it on my shelf but the size/fantasy element is so intimidating! Hope you have a great summer of reading 😊

I’m keen to get to my brilliant friend soon too, especially given its place on the NYT best books of the 21st century list.

Indeed, although I did have some questions about some inclusions on that list...

Best nonfiction I’ve read so far this year is
Strong Female Character by Fern Brady
Great on audio as Fern narrates it. It’s about her experience of being diagnosed autistic as an adult.

Heard a lot about this one, though I'm generally not a fan of memoirs

I started My Brilliant Friend this evening and I'm really liking it so far, though I'm only 50 pages so I don't know if that counts for much. I had been meaning to get to it for a while as well :)

Have you seen the tv series that was made of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell?
The books on your list I’ve read and would highly recommended
    The Lacuna
    The Garden of Evening Mists
    Say Nothing
I read them all via audio. If you can access audio they were very well narrated.

I think I'll wait till I've finished the book to watch the show
