✅don’t add habanero if you don’t like spicy
✅ another great substitute for hatch is Anaheim, Anaheim peppers are not spicy at all they are similar to a poblano yet very unique in flavor
Ingredients:
2-4 lbs pork shoulder
4 hatch green peppers
6 tomatillos
1/4 onion
1 garlic clove
2 habanero
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp oregano
4 tsp black pepper
Salt to taste I used 1 tbsp

Claudia, I’m from the Hatch Valley in New Mexico. Thank you for removing the blistered skins properly. I’ve seen too many people run the roasted chiles under running water. 😩 There’s nothing like the aroma of roasted Hatch chiles! I’m super excited, as we are coming up on chile season. Ahhhh saludos hermosa! I LOOOOOVE Hatch chiles to be honest it has to be my favorite Chile to use the spice and taste of it it’s unique! My local frys have the hatch chiles out and ohhhh it’s that time that I take advantage 🤭 hope one day I go to New Mexico and get me some hatch as well as New Mexico chile pods! And yessss No running water for me 😅

Well what can I say... I made your recipe yesterday and boy let me just tell you girl, it was down right delicious! Best chile verde I ever made!!! I did add an extra habanero to make it spicy and boy was it. This will definitely be made during the holiday pot luck. Thank you for sharing and making it seem simple enough for me to try. 😊

I made this tonight and it was delicious! I bought the pork not cut into stew meat and smoked it for an hour before cutting it up into chunks and following the recipe. It was a nice addition to the flavor.

Just made sum Chili Verde yesterday. Turned out great!! I use just a pinch of Jerk seasoning along with sum green chilies from my brother from Tula Rosa NM!! I also made sum Fry Bread! I really like your recipes and your smile 😁
My favorite meal/dinner
Made this for dinner tonight! It was super delicious! 😊 I couldn’t find fresh hatch green chiles from the store so I used canned fire roasted hatch green chiles instead. I’m sure the way Claudia does it using fresh chiles is the best but for those of us that can’t find them we can still make this recipe!
Just use Anaheim chiles!!

Chile Verde has to be my favorite dish. I've never had the courage to attempt making it until now. When roasting tomatillo how soft should they be when ready? As always thank you!
Im so excited for you to try it best yet using my recipe, the tomatillos I say roast for 2 minutes per side tbh this is only to chard them you don’t want them to be very soft or burst ☺️

Claudia I've been making this dish for years, I do the same technique but put in an instapot. for about 3 minutes. Its been a favorite for our family.
The pork will really cook all the way through in just 3 minutes (after searing)? Or did you mean 30 minutes?
@@anonymouse6703 3 minutes after searing pork is cut in to bite size pieces, then i put green sauce like Claudia did.. seal instapot 3 minutes and it comes out very falvorfull and tender

Claudia, I hope you’re able to try Pueblo chiles some day. They’re quite good, no matter what the New Mexico people say. I’m from the Arkansas Valley (in Colorado) and they’re the local favorite.
