@Jay Sharp thanks Jay sorry for your loss man. Very close friends are tough to lose. Sounds like you guys had some great times. That is really cool you guys got to see them live and meet up with them. I’m in my 50’s my younger brothers were like they been around a long time. I didn’t get turned on to them until a couple years ago. Definitely cool music
It really does. It's a really touching moment of that first episode . . .Marty and his family's lives are headed towards either complete destruction or transcendence. Luckily for his family, Marty is brilliant.
Nah that is Def separator yall coming from movies clearly don't know their or thoms music very well lol😂😂 I feel bad for u man having poor musical taste this song is okay there are at least 5 better ones I can easily come up with
It is one of the best songs ever. Over the years I’ve had probably 20 ‘favorite’ Radiohead songs -my list changed over time. I’m not sure where this one sits, but at the top makes sense. Above comment is just dumb.
Whoever chose this beautiful song for Ozark deserves praise. It just resonates with the despair and doom that surrounds in the scene that this song carries wonderfully well.
I hide booze in the woods miles from my house, sometimes when we run out i go on my bike listening to music and pick some up. But on May 27, 2023 the grass actually grew over the brown bags hiding in the woods. You gotta be kidding me this song played on my RUclips list.... I play it over and over and over..
@@funkymonk542 From reading the lyrics, sounds like he's singing about an alien invasion and everyone still laughs at the revealing of this confrontation. Only to run from the truth. Idk.
It's impossible for me to have a favourite Radiohead track,,, but decks dark does things to my head that no other track on the planet can. It's stunning thanks Mr Yorke and gang
Here because of Ozark. I don't know what it is that makes this song amazing but wow, for a song I don't even fully understand yet, I'm hooked. Anyone know the meaning , or some possible interpretations/analytics of the song? (Yes, Im one of THOSE...a.k.a. geek)
I think this song’s meaning correlates to someone’s world collapsing. All the similes and metaphors that relate to the end of the world kind of stuff or anything related to gloom paint a picture for a person’s sorrow. I think the type of sorrow can be interpreted many different ways so I can’t give a definite answer on that whether it’s finding out your partner is cheating, your marriage is ruined, someone dies, financial issues, etc. I personally think it more dwells around situations related to loved ones like family and romantic partners. But the line that talks about the loud sound for example, could be interpreted as the shock or sense of lost ness people feel after something devastating occurs and their emotions and anxiety wash over them. Free to think whatever you like but that’s my simple interpretation :)
Yeah it's amazing. My interpretation is very similar to what @justJocelyne has said - all of the metaphors for his world collapsing - the spaceship, 10 tonne head made of wet sand, grass growing over him, facing the glass (mirror) etc. Very interesting lyrics!
id say just like the situation of ozark. out of nowhere a darkness in the form of marty's offer to work with those people comes into their life, very quickly everything changes and their old life is a distant memory, almost like another life, people dying constantly around them but never themselves. rifts between family members at times as times get rough and people want out or people want to have a normal life. its slow, calculated chaos. it doesnt all happen at once but it is very chaotic.
Then into our life, there comes the darkness There's a spacecraft blocking out the sky And there's nowhere to hide You run to the back and you cover your ears But it's the loudest sound you've ever heard And all we trapped rag doll cloth people We are helpless to resist Into our darkest hour But it was just a laugh, just a laugh, just a laugh, just a laugh Even at this angle And so we crumble A ten-ton head made of wet sand Oh, this dread circumference You've gotta be kidding me The grass grows over me Your face in the glass, in the glass it was just a laugh, just a laugh It's whatever you say it is In split infinities Then into your life, there comes the darkness There's a spacecraft blocking out the sky And there's nowhere to hide You run to the back and you cover your ears It's the loudest sound you've ever heard Into our darkest hour Have you had enough of me? Have you had enough of me Sweet darling Have you had enough of me? Have you had enough of me? Sweet darling Sweet time Sweet dark Sweet dark
That's too bad. The show's content has stood on its own and elevated perpetually throughout the seasons. Hope you stuck around to see it unravel to where it currently stands.
haha no I think the spaceship is a metaphor for how something is making him feel. For me it's almost like he's talking about a mental illness/sadness?? I really don't know! You could look at it in many ways though.
Meh. Better than the annoying rap sh¡t they were playing in the current season [of Ozark], I guess. What was that all about? This season is so plodding to be a bore.
It really fits the moment of time for the occupants of Ozark! Perfect!
Hell yeah
You couldn't pick a better song for that moment.
Totally agree, my late mother turned me on to this song I missed it at the end of Ozark episode 1. Man did she know music.

@@Fay_F_2 why no?
Can’t believe I am watching Radiohead music in this format hahaha. It’s usually a lyric video for like one of those emo bands or Kpop.
This format is used for all genres, if it reminds you of kpop that just means you only search for kpop lyrics

Radiohead is an emo band lol
Kpop lyric videos are generally colour-coded, with the members' faces on top. Wdym it's same??
@@MysticAvade That's what people thinks with some albums.
This song has a slight touch of horrorcore and romance combined into it.
I was thinking the same thing . It’s a combo of horror/love I give Yorke credit I wish I could hear him dissect the meaning of his lyrics.✌️
@@funkymonk542 From reading the lyrics, sounds like he's singing about an alien invasion and everyone still laughs at the revealing of this confrontation. Only to run from the truth. Idk.
That's a pervasive theme in Radiohead. See for instance fitter/happier, the romantic piano riff contrasting with the desperate lyrics.

i love this song sm
This song is the audio version of the buildup to a mushroom trip
His voice is so full of anguish! Its very poignant and relevant now. People there soon will be indeed nowhere to run to!
Oh sweet darling there could never be enough of you.
Then into our life, there comes the darkness There's a spacecraft blocking out the sky And there's nowhere to hide
You run to the back and you cover your ears
But it's the loudest sound you've ever heard
And all we trapped rag doll cloth people
We are helpless to resist
Into our darkest hour
But it was just a laugh, just a laugh, just a laugh, just a laugh
Even at this angle
And so we crumble
A ten-ton head made of wet sand
Oh, this dread circumference You've gotta be kidding me
The grass grows over me
Your face in the glass, in the glass it was just a laugh, just a laugh
It's whatever you say it is
In split infinities
Then into your life, there comes the darkness There's a spacecraft blocking out the sky And there's nowhere to hide
You run to the back and you cover your ears
It's the loudest sound you've ever heard
Into our darkest hour
Have you had enough of me?
Have you had enough of me

Subterranean Homesick Alien, Pyramid Song, Decks Dark, Planet Telex, what else?

It’s about depression and loss.
