    Can't remember what those extra plugs were for AC I think, I did a 3rd gen swap in my Celica but I used my original 2nd gen 3sgte harness and aftermarket ECU, it was easier than trying to use the st205/3rd gen ECU, engine is simple enough to get running, most people end up needing the MAP sensor, ignitor, intercooler pump/temp sensor because it's Missing from the engine swap, I had a FMIC and PNP ecu for the 2nd gen, which essentially made the 3rd gen swap plug and play, had to swap the knock and IAT sensor but that was really easy, also modified the throttle cable bracket, it seemed daunting at first but all the issues were very simple for me anyways,

    • @BarkLife
      @BarkLife  2 года назад

      My engine swap is 100% complete as far as sensors and such. This came out of a 92 na mr2. I didn't realize how much the chassis harness matters on this swap. I have a few different guys trying to offer solutions so I may possibly have a way to make this work! Thanks for taking the time to watch and post.

    fyi. You can use the S54 transmission on the 3sgte with 300 whp all day long. TCS Motorsports who has pumped out hundreds of 3sgte swaps with S54s has said that. They actually say they have more E153 problems but then again people tend to beat on the E153 through the years. You just don't want to go around launching the S54 all over the place. The S54 has shorter gears so that may be better as well depending on what you use the car for, etc. And you will want to upgrade your axles cages as that is the weak point once you start modifying the engine for more boost. TCS or ATS Racing can help you out with that as well. Back when I did my GEN3 swap I purchased an entire 1998 MR2 half cut with the body harness but that was back in 2008. There was a website that I'll link if I can find it that showed all the wiring, etc from a na to 3rd gen but my chasis was already a 93 Turbo chasis.

    Use wire gap for all your wiring needs, you can order your new engine wiring harness on “prime mr2” that will plug into ur existing model year mr2 n/a. Especially since your going from n/a to gen 3 . If you were doing a 91/92 usdm 3sgte into a 91/92 n/a it would be plug and play and you would just need to mess with a few wires and it’s documented in the forums for the diyers, but gen 3 is a bit more hidden work that only the guys who have done it will know how to do it:

      Thanks for taking the time to watch and respond i need to look at what everything is going to cost for wiring. If it gets to far on the steep side it may be time to look at selling the 3s and looking at other options! I am glad that I got the e153! Again thanks so much for watching and taking the time to respond thats awesome I will check with prime mr2 and check out wire gap I hadn't been to that site before! it is now favorited!

    I have a celica with the 5sfe and I was wondering if it would be worth an NA 3sge swapping it. I have an automatic transmission and I was wondering if it would still work with the 3sge. I don't like manual because I drove manual a lot for work and I want to enjoy cruising in my Celica without worrying about the gears and clutch.

    you do mus plug on your car for enginebay fan ecu. its an little black or gray ecu. and the wiring of you radio anten goes from ecu to anten. and new mr2 has cruise crontrol , the wiring of this re in the same cabele stack. you need to know diffrence between years, types and usa europe and jdm, but you dont need all of these / try first to start. just onlye a few wires. let de rest for later.

    So probably not gonna get answered but I have a question. I got a 5sfe in my Camry but it’s California reg and not federal reg. I wanted to run a turbo but the manifold has a cat. What all would I have to change to be able to run different header

    • @BarkLife
      @BarkLife  Год назад +1

      Honestly, the best option would be switching to a standalone ie ecumaster aem haltec all great options. From there you are replacing the manifold anyway so dosnt matter what your stock manifold is anyway. There are many turbo 5sfe out there. Lots of great info out there. I have toyed with a 99plus 5sfe bottom end for my 3sgte head to make a stroker motor.

    The S54 is better for way more than 180hp. Plenty of guys run it with 2GRs due to its lighter weight compared to the E153, and the shorter gearing, which is great for autocross or just around town. No more S54 slander please lol.

    • @BarkLife
      @BarkLife  Год назад

      Lol I hear ya. I gave the clause of what I have heard and read. One of the big people to pushing me away from s54 was an auto x guy. He had been through several s54. He was also working at a highly competitive level with it. He said e153 all the way. I never gave the s54 a fair chance from my own experiences. It seems a lot like the w58 vs r154 in the sc300/supra world. I ran a w58 in my mk4 supra at 500whp for 6 years and 50k miles no issues. I did eventually upgrade to a cd009 because I was pushing my goals to 750whp.

    • @grimson
