Following Messi, former striker Gabriel Batistuta is in second place, with 55 goals scored. Sergio Agüero, with his 42 goals, completes the podium of Argentina's top scorers.
Other notable names that appear among the team's top 10 scorers are: Hernán Crespo (35 goals), Diego Maradona (32 goals), Gonzalo Higuaín (31 goals), Ángel Di María (30 goals) and Lautaro Martínez (22 goals ).
It is worth noting that these numbers only refer to goals scored in official games for the Argentina main team.

I would have liked to watch José Manuel Moreno play. Many said he played better than Maradona, Pelé and Di Stéfano. Di Stéfano said he learnt from him. Maradona said he was embarrased to receive an award as the best player of Argentina history because of Moreno
