In my opinion this is an awesome car, it has a lot of tuning potential. Although a lot of people don't think it is a Toyota or a Supra, I think it is. Think about this: the mk4 wasn't even a special car until people started discovering the potential that the 2jz had for tuning purposes. This car is not special by it's own, but by tuning it it will probably be worth the buy.
I'm gonna add some facts too 1st, the JZA80 isn't fully Toyota too, the engine (the almighty 2JZ) wasn't even fully Toyota, and the Transmission (The praised Getrag V160/V161) Is made and developed by German 2. The JZA80 isn't the first car to use the 2JZ, instead, the Toyota Aristo (JZS147 and JZS161) used it before the JZA80, sadly, no one never really credits these cars 3. The JZA80 isn't the first supra nor the original supra, it is only the most known out of all its three predecessors, the A40, A60, and the A70

Spoiled for choice? Its either a smooth i6 with enough horsepower to make it interesting, or a rumbling v8 with enough power to openly cuss at WOT. Either way, its gonna be good.

But now that its mid-rear engined, the choice for both cars now boils down to personal taste & ability. You want a car with a traditional FR layout thats familiar with power that isn't overwhelming (good for 1st time sportscar owners), the Supra is for you. If you feel confident in your driving ability, like ample amounts of power & torque, the Corvette is made for you. Both cars coming in under 100k usd (msrp) is also good, meaning more people can buy these cars.

I’m a tuner guy always have been But the new Corvette stomped this Toyota/BMW. I literally know three people who pulled deposits off of the new supra for the new Corvette Toyota could’ve done a lot better by making a 3JZ motor and a manual tranny Instead they went to BMW in my eyes personally that took away what made Supra a Supra. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a great car but it’s not better than the competitors
