I purchased one the model called "Defender 1" (stamped Japanese) in 89' when I deployed to Desert Storm. (desert shield at the time I bought it). carried it everywhere and still have it. Will never let it go. 😎👍🏻

A lil late to the party though as former federal LE, CRG Operator/Team Leader, Senior CQB & Krav Maga Instructor, we had custom Cold Steel blades made for us and you were spot on as the Terminator Punch Dagger was originally the Magnum Skinner. I carried two 2.5" Magnums. Anything over 3", and 3 of my 5 current blades on my daily person are Punch Daggers, is a waste of steel and defeats the purpose & makes it much much tougher, if not impossible, to deploy/utilize the Punch Dagger as intended. For my neck Mini-Punch, I prefer 1.50-1.75" with my waist Punch Daggers being a pair of Winkler WK's(2 5/8" blade). I also sometimes carry a pair of Atlas Dynamic Defense NOC Punch Daggers(blade length: 2.375", cutting edge: 1.875")
I currently wear either a Bastinelli L'Innocent(1.75") or a Skallywag(1.50") Punch Dagger as a neck blade.
Though I also carry two fixed blade pocket knives, a Wrinkler SD2(3.25" blade) in my left front pocket & an AMTAC Northman Proto(3.5") in my right front pocket, I most likely would utilize one of my Punch Daggers in a real world situation.
I have a funny story about Cold Steel that is way off topic though I think that you'll appreciate this, lol...
I have a general self defense class for any civilians(males/females) and the first class I discuss the Punch Dagger, the theory behind it and why I think that EVERY individual should carry at a minimum, a neck Punch Dagger. I have the Cold Steel line-up laid out on a table, both Punch Daggers and fixed blades. I've always liked Cold Steel is it's a solid blade for the price point, and well within most peoples' budget.
So this kid, he was early 20's, maybe 5'8-5'9", 140lbs 145 tops, pulls out this behemoth folder, takes two hands to open it and asked me if that was a good "fighting knife" as he had watched a YTube vid that said that it was "scary" and just as dangerous, lolol
It was the Cold Steel Spartan😂😂😂
I'm sure that you're familiar with it and I actually have one though I got it more for the novelty than to ever use, hahaha. I was as nice as I could be in telling why that knife was more of a danger to him that it would EVER be to an adversary😂😂. I told him that he stood a better chance of caving in a guy's skull using it closed and beating him with it than ever cutting him IF he ever got it open, lolol. We get all types🤷🏻‍♂️😂
Superb video and a great walk down memory lane🤙
Stay Well, Stay Safe & Continued Success Brotha👊

this is exactly why LTK is the man-- sometimes the knife is only part of the story. It might just be important to know why we're so infatuated with knives-- history may just be a big part of it--- Thanks LTK --- AGAIN !!!!

Thank you very much for the video. I am kinda obsessed with push daggers. Your video is very satisfying that someone is talking about push daggers for that long.

Earlier urban skinners in the mid 80s had smooth rubber handles without the diamond pattern

YES! I had one and remember now. Handle gradually got shiny from skin oils. Buried in my collection somewhere.

I just purchased a M. Price 'San Francisco' push dagger with an ivory handle and silver sheath. Outstanding weapon. In my opinion these push daggers are more lethal than a knife because of the force of a punch that can be delivered. If I was going to carry a weapon for self defence a push dagger would be my choice.

Knife restrictions are so stupid and unconstitutional! I'm glad we don't have them in my state! Everyone deserves to be able to carry the self defense tool or tools of their choice. The 2nd Amendment says "Arms" which means any tool that can be used to protect your life and property, not just firearms!

I bought the first punch knife in 1990 it cost me $120 I lost it a few years ago while moving the one on the far right I bought last year it was $45 . the first one was Japanese steel the second one I bought was from Taiwan the Japanese is by far the better quality steel that is why the price is so different.

What’s the steel on the termination or it’s smaller friend being Japanese I’d love to see sk-5 or even vg10 though the urban skinner push dagger without a double edge defeats the purpose unless stupid laws keep u from carrying a double edged knife though I carry my Benchmade fixed blade double edged great grip fantastic sheath and a fantastic heat treated D2 love in but I’m looking for a neck knife push dagger thinking of the cold steel urban edge push dagger Aus8 steel which is ok for the $23 price tag with a sheath and double edge with a 2.5 inch blade which is plenty long enough if u know how to punch and is a light lighter and easier to hide.
