I do like mine a lot but honestly I think they could use more soft cushioning for your knee, mine were pretty sore without wearing some sort of additional padding like volleyball knee pads under them.
@@BonesyTVI was going to ask the same question; it’s amazing to me the lack of cushion in all knee guards. Who doesn’t want a SUPER soft landing for their knees without having to wear pads under their pads under their pads? I stitched a polyester sleeve, with a strip of anti-fatigue mat inside, into my Bauer Pro’s. Somehow it turned out amazing but no one should have to do janky homemade upgrades to $$$ top-tier gear.
I just got around to buying a pair this year after wanting them since I watched your first video on them. Absolutely love them and they feel way better than the basic Bauer ones I have used for the last like 3 years. Definitely going to buy more of their products in the future.
I was gonna grab a pair of these. Then he sent me a quote. By the time they would get to Canada, they are well over $500. That was the deal killer for me
Same for me looked at them while back but like you said they are on the expensive side compared to others, maybe one day I'll give them a try when I get alot of spare money :) I like how they are build and with my bauer ones I have to put some tapes to be sure they stay up all time
Yep, I looked as well here in the states. I'm sure they're great but I am SO picky about my knee pads that I couldn't risk a $500 pair that may just end up shelfed or hard to sell.
Yeah the price tag is pretty devastating. They'd fly off the shelves if they were reasonably priced. But then again it seems like they focus more on masks than other products so theres a chance the price is meant to scare people away
Hey bud I just ordered a pair in size medium. What size socks are you wearing over to make it like a compression sock? You really sold me on not having to use suspenders. I use Vaughn knee guards with suspenders and I have to wear sock suspenders as well. Unnecessary bulk just to keep my knee protection in place and like you said it pulls my cup down and is just a hassle and distraction at times. Please advise thanks!
Size medium!! The smaller size makes it hold everything in place like a compression sleeve. I just use the Velcro tabs on my under garments to hold them in place and it works great
I just got a pair of CCM KP Pro knee guards. So far so good. I was using the Vaughn V6 double shield, but I would get hit on the bottom part of it and that is where I felt a couple of stingers. One shot put me out of action for a couple weeks. Ouch!
Dude those are THE worst. I still have my old CCM KP Pros. Ended up getting a second pair to rotate since I liked them so much. But after finding these there was no going back
@@BonesyTV i think the best way to make a video is when Sven from RXS makes one 😊👍🏻 i will ask him to do one. He is such a nice guy and a good friend 😊👍🏻
For 2 years that’s not bad at all especially for the level you play at. I do mid level division 6 goalie in men’s league and I have to get new guards every 2 years but they’re just the warrior basic senior model which don’t do what this can do. Thanks for the great review been waiting for this to go on sale or sideline for this haha
@@BonesyTVnot sure why. Maybe I am landing on them differently than normal people or maybe the warrior ones have just been down in quality. I notice every time I replace them they seem thinner and thinner
Bonesy, question, on my second set of trues, have tried several things to get the pads higher on my boot. I noticed you have them set very high on the boot, what do you do to accomplish this?
Not sure if you've tried playing around with the strapping at all but you can try making it a little tighter on that top FRS strap. I also have pretty long toe ties so the pad isn't being pulled down at the toe
They're SUPER pricey. But I play at a high level rec league and I serve as the emergency goalie here in Nashville so I get the random invite to NHL practices too
If you are beerleaguer like me you can get custom made PAWs for $160 . They offer a lot of protection and very durable, no need to spend 500 on these monsters.
are these now your go to knee guards? Seems like knee guards are lagging behind in innovation. most goalies i know have trouble finding one thats right for them .
Yup! These are my current knee guards. Finding the right set of knee guards is a journey. You really have to try a bunch of different ones out before you find the right ones.

I hear you, I always use a volley ball knee guard. My knee just can’t take the poundings
Yeah I agree. I think if they wanted to improve these they'd add more cushion in that area

A great update to your review! Always good to know that others are smart enough to wear socks over their knee pads
I use old sweat pants as socks, and I wear them over both the jock and knee guards. Helps hold everyting down.
I've seen other people do this too! Blew my mind the first time
How do you get your socks to stay up, do you need to tape them? @@BonesyTV
@DavidFaxon nah I have velcro tabs on my undergarments that match the Velcro on the socks

Right!? Nothing like them out there. I'm glad they've held up for so long too. Not sure I could go back to anything else

Great review...I definitely need some kind of upgrade, a puck got me good yesterday resulting in a sweet knee bruise.
Ugh. Those are the worst. Takes me back to the days in high school when I didn’t wear and knee protection

Haha yeah thats a smart move. Kinda crazy you have to replace the warrior ones that often. Is there a reoccurring issue?

not a bad review but it would have been a bit nicer of the music was a little bit lower.
Yeah? I’m still working on this new style of reviews. Thanks for the input. Wasn’t sure if it’d be too distracting or not

Socks over knee guards for me too. Expensive knee guards but two years in seems you get your money's worth.
