Nice video thanks. Freight seems all but gone from Irelands railways in 2020, now its almost exclusively passengers. A far cry from the zenith days of 1970.
Thank you for yet another classic presentation-great memories conjured up!Will government ever acknowledge the value of the rail asset/utility in general, and the specific contribution rail freight can make in a hard Brexit scenario not to mention its quantifiable reduction of GHG emissions with EU fines targeting Ireland in 2020?Nice to see the Sligo timber up the quay branch. Spectacular GM sounds were produced by small GMs in pairs, or by single 071s when they hauled twelve laden bogies up from the yard before it was decreed that trains must be brought up as two by six laden wagons.With freight, manual signalling and locos gone from Sligo, the nearest to the old order we get now is the annual weed spray.
