Or better yet they can pay for expensive sponsorships, which is how most of the sporting teams make their money. Some of the rich people should go get a TV network of their own and they could pay $1 billion to the WNBA and see how that works out.

Any other business like the WNBA would be out of business. It does not matter how rich the owners are. The WNBA loses 10 million a year and has been losing 10 million per year for 30 years. Zero x zero = zero. This is what the WNBA players deserve. So, the players are making more than they deserve. The NBA subsidizes the WNBA. The NBA earns 150 times the revenue of the WNBA. The WNBA earns 60 million in revenue and the NBA earns 10 billion in revenue per year. Get over it!!

I'm so tired of this pay disparity arguments. It's so not true. Look the pay disparity is basically the same or on par when the NBA first started out when Julius Erving got drafted. Now when Dr. J started out he was the 3 round draft pick and was only paid 20,000. When the NBA was only 26 years old and before he and others made it popular. 20,000 in turn after adjusting for inflation, that's the same as $90,000 per year today. That's when the NBA was 26 years old. Granted Dr. J was a 3rd round draft pick and the NBA wasn't so popular back then either but they had revenue from the stands and they had to compete with other teams and salaries.
The WNBA is just one year older than when the Dr. J started but the men's leagues were bringing in roughly more revenue and more bodies to the stands back then. So no for a league that is just starting out they are on point.
    Don't believe it......
    LOOK IT UP!

1- The NBA subsidizes the league anywhere from 12-16 million a year for 27 years or she would not have a job at all.
2- The woman receive a higher percentage of total revenue then the men receive and that is not disputed.
3- There are 12 teams and 40 games a year in a league where last season 1 team was profitable.
4- There are millions of employees working for profitable companies for 40 hours a week all year long that make less.
5- There are more women then men in the united states so if woman want the league to be popular and profitable they are perfectly able to do the heavy lifting and spend their money and time to ensure it succeeds.
    6. If the wnba was a men's league they would have disbanded 20+ years ago. THe fact that the WNBA still operates is in fact a charity largely done to promote womens sports even when losing money horribly for over a quarter of a century.
When you take into account the above ilsted facts , not only are Women being treated better then men they are given special treatment and grace that no men's league would ever receive.
STOP DISTORTING THE FACTS IN AN ATTEMPT TO PAINT SOCIETY AS A TYRANNICAL PATRIARCHY HOLDING WOMEN BACK OR TREATING THEM POORLY WHEN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE IS A GIFT FROM MOSTLY THE MALE NBA OWNERS TO EVEN GIVE THEM A PLATFORM
