I normally use base coat instead of a primer when i use this, simply because i don't own any prime i haven't had any issues. I often use this product to help my natural nails, not always to build a full nail. I'll use it to create a tiny bit of length if i accidentally break a nail too short, or something. Or if ive ripped my natural nail, it hardens over to make it strong again. It's an awesome product
This video was done so well--kudos to you. You make this look easy enough I want to try it. But I'm worried that it's much harder to do on yourself than someone else.
This is what I've been waiting for all my life!!! I have ridges, lumps and grooves in my nails from a deficiency. This will take care of that. What is "overlay"? Is it a top coat of the builder? TIA
Hello saw your comment and wanted to help. Usually with enhancements they normally don't chip so you wouldn't need to apply a no chip polish. However, primer/bonder is usually used to correct the chipping. Which after the nail was buffed you'd apply the product. Then your color then your top coat. Hope this helped !!
nannypans do the exact thing just over your natural nails. No form. Brush in the gel and cure, then add structure in the center and let it level. Cure and finish all the rest of your nails, then follow the same steps for the rest of your nails.
Is this considered a hard gel overlay? Or just an overlay cus I know hard gel can’t be soaked off . I want to add this to my services but idk what the proper name is for it ?
I do not have a curer in my home & I don't know where to find one. So, if i want a mani, i have to spend a bunch of money i don't have, or use impress nails, or don't bother at all. I really wish that someone would make a gel polish, that u don't have cure! This is crazy. Back in the day; soak file push back & nip the cuticle. Use a base coat...use 2 coats of polish. Use a top coat. I used to use Revlon nail dry, get on with ur life. Not everyone has the time for all this other. If someone invents a gel polish that be used with all that crap, I would try it....or if someone could tell where to get a nail curer, and the cost then i might consider switching to gel.🤷🏽♀️😒😒🤷🏽♀️
I use this & no burning. I think it depends on how much/thickness your layer is. Meaning thicker has more potential to feel hot. I’ve done that with reg gel polish before.
the full kit has applicators so you can “make” a tip if you know what I mean. The forms let you apply the product in the shape/length you want it and you can cure it as usual.
Not really. You don't need THAT much product in order to built the nails. It's the size of a regular nail polish bottle and you use 3 "coats" to achieve what they got. It will last way longer than 3 uses.

Soak off gel base coat works well
I use a base coat too! Works fine.
I also use a base coat instead of primer.
This is great I was always using acrylic ...... now from acrylic to this one ...... it’s a huyuuuge difference ..........
Ely Nails, here is a link to another great video for this product

What do you notice most? From a fellow nail tech !!! I’m looking into doing gel instead of acrylic
The nail colour of the person applying the biab was beautiful 💕
You actually apply this with more precision than many. Thank you for teaching me 😍

I wish nail people used this in my area instead of acrylic 😭
I know I hate acrylic.. You can buy this set online though I'm thinking of getting it lol.
Superdrug salon in the uk only use orly and do these extensions ony
Only

An overlay is just the builder product on the natural nail, not an extension. 🙂
Hi! What color was the nail tech wearing when she took out the forms the nude shade. It's so nice!!
This looks *very* simple. Especially getting that great apex. Im trying it.
How did this work for you ? Was it very easy to apply ? How long is curing time ?
been looking for one that sells to public, ill have to try this!
Moonlit Witch I got mine on amazon
Sally beauty supply has it
Amazon
I got mine@ Sally beauty supply
Ok and if I wanted to add some gel polish to these, should I do that before the top coat?
Yes, apply gel polish then top coat.
Before gel color need to put base coat on @@NativeRedbone77
My most beautiful nails were done with Orlyfx! I don't understand why more nail techs don't use it!!!!!
Love love love this product!
what is the overlay? also can you apply regular polish on top after doing this process using the builder gel?
I love orly nail polish... must buy must try Crystal clear nail builder 😱 omg! The excitement.
Hi there. Thanks for this video!!!! Question, at what point do you add no chip polish if you wanted?

What you use to clean the nail before applying the builder?
Love the video! And I know this is random but what soundtrack did you use for the video? I love it!
Curing with a UV lamp or an LED lamp? How much time for each type of lamp?
How can this be used for a simple overlay?

Wonderful tutorial!!! Also wondering what color the tech is wearing at the 1:19-3:00 minute marks? The perfect nude!
What colour is the manicurist wearing? Pls and thank you 😌

Do u need to apply primer? Or base coat? Well i only ask because primer is the thing i may be allergic to. Ir do u just go tight in with the builder
Yes
Can it be cured with an LED lamp?
Yes
@longhairprettynails
J Elis @longhairprettynails PLEASE TRY.
Can you use stamper polish with this ?
Are the Orly gels HEMA free?
Can you use this polish without the forms and can you use polish over it instead of leaving it clear?
Jennie cartier yes

will gel cure with ASP led light?
Is your nails supposed to burn for a minute underneath the UV.
It's very common just for a couple seconds, it happens to me too for just a couple seconds
My clients are having an issue with this and it’s so unbearable for them… I’m going to have to consider tipping the product even though we love it

@@mw5863 - That is true but sadly with builder gel it needs to be thick. I’ve finally gotten my flash cure down and it helps!
@@NakedBeeeASMR Sure but you don't have to apply it to desired thickness in just one layer.
Can you use this with tips on a full set ?
the full kit has applicators so you can “make” a tip if you know what I mean. The forms let you apply the product in the shape/length you want it and you can cure it as usual.
This video was taken right from Orly's website. You didn't make it.
I literally said hmmm this looks familiar, I just watched it on Orly. This isn’t even edited to look different. Yikes!
@@kittycouture9643 Exactly! Not cool at all.
Do you have to use top coat?
Do we need to cut our cuticals and buff our nail beds for this? Cause I really don’t want to do all that :/
yup! if not it could pop off :/ the process is time consuming but the end result is dope!
Doing your nails is all about prep! Prep is sooo important not only for longevity but also it'll just look a lot better :)
You can use a buffer with a low grit like 240/500
I've used this and after 3 days the tips started bending and eventually the extension part ripped off.
I hate acrylic and polygel but I loveeeee gel soft or hard lol.
How many applications can one get with this bottle? For example with the length used in this video?
Cant get this product as a professional in my area.... help!
What area? I'm in the US and have purchased it at both Amazon (kit) and repurchased the builder gel at Sally's. Hope that helps
Why domy nails end up claw-like? What am I doing wrong with the nail forms?
try to put the form more upwards, if that makes any sense! i have the same problem, it’s definitely a struggle
@@peachyytaehyung3799
Try using tips instead of forms it's so much easier👍
Why do u remove the “tacky layer”?
Because it attracts lint, dirt etc
Can you use clear nail tip with this? Will it cure on a clear nail tip using this as a gel overlay on a tip?
Yes
Exelen!
Awesome
hi how long will it last?
When I use tips I get 2 weeks out of them, when I use forms like they did here I get 3+ weeks
This was so loose. Maybe I was using to much but it wouldn't even stay in place.
Is it easy to remove?
In my opinion, no.
is there any way to use a form to apply the polish under if you want longer nails?
Yes, you can apply OPI OR CND too.
Does anyone know if you can use any brand gel polish on top of this orly builder??
You can use any gel polish or regular polish over anything. Better to use regular polish so you can change your look with non-acetone remover.
Paige Stout -Thank you so much!
These nail forms DO NOT WORK! They're SO wide. Nothing works
Jen Michele there are some good nail forms online or even Amazon! I use either Mia Secret forms for long nails or Young Nail forms for shorter nails.
Operator error. Their forms work just fine if you know what you're doing with them. You may need to do relief cuts or pinch the form tighter.
Purchase tips it's easier for a pro or non pro!
You will easily go through an entire bottle after 2 to 3 uses
Not really. You don't need THAT much product in order to built the nails. It's the size of a regular nail polish bottle and you use 3 "coats" to achieve what they got. It will last way longer than 3 uses.
I'm on my 5th mani and the bottle isn't even half empty. You're using way too much.
