Gosh man M4’s are serious a piece of art. Your mods are very tasteful btw
I agree, they are beautiful. There are definitely much better executed M4’s out there lol but thank you I appreciate it!!
Sounds great 👍🏽
Great video
Thanks my man! Pretty sure I see you posting on the FB group sometimes lol beautiful M4!
Im in the market for intakes and just stumbled on your video doing some searching around, i think i might have found the ones I’ve been looking for haha cars look good too bro 👍
Thank you so much Dorian! I appreciate the kind words. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try my best to help out. Best of luck!
What are your IAT's like in 75-90 degree ambient temps? I just installed mine, and temps outside have been around 80 degreees Farenh. And my IAT's are 113-120. They sound freaking good though man, lol. I also have an aluminum GTS hood btw. I wonder if it was carbon fiber if that would help woth temps, lol. Also, are you getting a slight awkward bend at the silicone elbow for the passenger side intake?
Hey Vince. I wanted to check in and see how you like the intakes so far now. Throttle difference, power difference etc?? I have upgraded turbos on my F80 and was thinking it may be time for a set of intakes. Thanks man.
Hi Justin, I’m looooving these intakes lol. They sound so good and there’s not a loss in power from heat soaking in comparison to my old BMS intakes. As for power wise, I don’t think I feel much of a difference. That being said, I’m not e/dyno tuned as I’m just running the BM3 “Stage 1” tune although my butt dyno likes to think it’s quicker lol. Obviously these intakes would benefit from a proper tune. Throttle response I haven’t noticed much.
Hey there, great vid. Was looking at these for my m2. Was wondering. How well does this seal against the hood? Like does the rubber trim actually touch? I was thinking about getting dry filter version.
The rubber trim does touch the hood but it’s hard for me to tell if it’s a complete seal as the M4 hood has little channels and grooves in the area that the intake box seals in. Needless to say, the carbon construction also helps with the heat vs. the typical aluminum intake piping. If you’re looking for full heat soak protection, I believe they make a closed box intake. I went this route though because I did want to still be able to hear the noises haha. From what I’ve seen, the closed box is nearly minimal in terms of noise.
Yea I really like the open design. Also helps with filter maintenance. Can access filters without taking the carbon brace out
@@clayhammer3904 For sure. I thought about doing front mounts at one point but filter maintenance would have been slightly more annoying lol
Hey, does the opening of the intake connect with the front plumbing behind the grill like oem, or does it just sit there?? 🤔
Hi Ev, the intake does have a hole to connect to the front grill ducting to provide some direct airflow. If you have any other questions, let me know!!
I was debating on these or MST or ARM's new intake for my m4...they all have some sort of heatshield, which is a must. Just concerned there wouldn't be enough sound with this complete box sealing it completely with hood down. Maybe I could leave the rubber seal off on the AFE box?
Davis, I definitely can say that there is a little bit less audible noise in comparison to my previous set up of BMS Intakes, but it's hard to provide both a loud intake while providing optimal heat resistance. You could leave the rubber seal off, but this may have an affect on the intake temps. Regardless, having this heat shield (With or without the seal) definitely will provide some additional heat resistance in comparison to other short-ram intakes that are left open in the engine bay. I really do like these intakes because they look amazing and the carbon structure really helps with the heat compared to the other brands with aluminum construction. Most aluminum intakes also seem to throw CEL's for our cars and give off a rough cold start idle.
@@VinceFung ha thanks! I just purchased the AFe magnum force intake for my f83 m4. I mainly want it for the sound and I prefer the heatshield design over the open intakes, if i gain 5whp throughout my Powerband, that'll be a plus!
@@davis7323 That’s awesome man! Glad I could help, let me know what you think of it once installed. I’d love to hear what your thoughts are. It’s definitely reassuring with a heat shield of some sort lol.
I've got the completely sealed version and it's fucking great
Hell yeah babyyy
Hi, any updates on the system? Do they require a tune? Thanks
So far no problems and still sounds great! I would definitely recommend a tune with any intake to get the most out of it, however some companies might say that a tune isn’t required to run them.
Have you cleaned the filters yet?
Hey man! I have not cleaned them since I installed them, however I also do not do as much commuting as I used to. I believe at most I’ve put 4-5k miles on it since installation.
How loud are these? Let's say compared to MST and Injen?
I would say they are just as loud as MST and louder than Injen. However the short rams with out the heat boxes are a tad louder (BMS, SSR, etc) but I have had huge heat soaking problems with those intakes previously which is why I went with this carbon structure + the box this time.
@@VinceFung Great to know. I think I made a good choice then. Your car sounds good man, thanks.
@@carsandcoldbrew6489 Thank you! If you have any other questions, just let me know.
