As you can imagine, building a custom pc is a mystery to most users. Who knows what my next computer will be, I chose a mac after having made several customs. The fact that it's possible with non-mac computers to completely customize them, is of course great for those who want it and for those who find performance the most important thing a computer has to offer.

@MickeyLBrown What do you use your computer for then? I asked gaming before but you looked over it. The security is entirely re-thought out and the built in firewall is better than the windows one. But what if you crotch rocket breaks? Don't worry, it can convert do a tricycle to do your tasks while you fix your crotch rocket. co-existence fixes problems.

@CrizzoDesigns No, I just didn't have the time to talk to the "Genius Bar." Instead, I saved time by setting my Mac money on fire. Ironically, the grill I used to burn the money became obsolete when the next grill model came out. Now my grill isn't even supported! Oh wait, I was confusing something useful with Mac's product life cycle.
Mac for everything, PC for everything else.

ipods are one thing that apple got perfectly correct and probably one of the best products they've ever produced, the rest however is just incredably well marketed as from a personaly point of view they are nopt worth the high premium price they are given.

I will eat containers full of undiluted pain before I install Windows on my Mac.
Macs let you do the things that matter, which means being productive or creative using the best applications. As far as customization goes, when you buy a mac you get a well designed and constructed product that looks great and is fully functional right out of the box. And if you truly love to customize, feel free to hate microsoft and welcome to the world of linux.

@MacFixIt101 no they just put that in to intentionally direct business and show off the benefits of this product to make people want to buy it and the video ends with the Parallels logo, but no its not sponsored by them at all.

@Mrevo599 Linux (some distros) may run faster, but what's the use if the software you need doesn't run on Linux? That's one reason many people still stick in the world of Windows and aren't even all too sure about moving to Mac even though most pro apps run on both, or have equivalent stuff (IMO, better most of the time). It's personal preference, everyone has different needs from their computers. At the end of the day they're just tools to get things done, use what works best for you.

don't want to start this discussion, but anyway... on windows there are dozen of tools for web site coding, VC, Dreamweaver, PHP Designer, Easy PHP, jetstorm products, HTML dev... ...
if people are starting to get one product one after other isn't mean that that product is good or bad... is a fashion tool, people always want what they see on other people. Also the apple products in school are most likely sponsored by Apple.

Horsepower is never bad, but not always needed as much. I think hackintosh is the right solution for you. I've never been able to test one thus far, but it seems it can run OSX flawlessly and then combining it with windows through a dual boot gets you the best of both worlds.
