Amazing videos your making, definitely all are full of good knowledge! Just curious, do you have much knowledge with any Leica total station systems for machine control or GNSS systems. As a surveyor myself I would like to continue building my knowledge within the Leica ecosystem and learn more about machine control. Many thanks.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate the feedback also to know they are ok. We are only a Trimble dealer and don’t deal with Leica at all and I have not used one before. My videos will strictly be Trimble. I hope to make more total station videos that will be without machine control soon. Thanks again.
Good question. Your machine will automatically be close or right on if the total station was resection in and on elevation itself, therefore giving the machine the right elevation. It’s just a good practice to check a known elevation like I did to make sure and if there is any error in all the setup, then benching clears that or resets it to get rid of it. In the video you will notice I was already basically right on before I benched. So it’s just a check in like you would with gps also. Hopefully this made sense.
Awesome video! Great insight.
Thanks for watching

Awesome video. I use the UTS on excavator but I don’t remember benching. I usually find my line of site and go to work of my design. Why the benching?
