Graham Nash had a rich accent when he first arrived in America. When he moved to the US and stayed in LA and became a founding member of CSNY he lost the accent. He's a naturalized citizen now. Just a bunch of fun guys having a rave-up with writing and producing their music.
Excellent story on RUclips of graham (and alan ) telling of meeting the everly brothers as teens, and how after the hollies made it big, the everly brothers remembered these random 2 english kids theyd met on the street one night by pure chance! 👍❤️
This group and song was a little bit before my time. What I mean by that is I was too young to remember and understand the concept of rock and roll bands. Anyway they are a great band.
@@petrslivinski7481 can't believe the others said London! I'm from California, but been living in or near Manchester for 2 decades..a pretty cool place
Mike Douglas wasn't exactly known for being a hipster, he was more of a square. Graham Nash wasn't a bad looking guy but that woman couldn't resist hitting on a married man. She would have been better off hooking up with the other single guys instead.😄
Always a class act,one of the finest British bands ever imo
The most underrated band the world will ever hear and still touring the world
Einfach nur Klasse
I would have Loved to see this show, to see The Hollies, receive these Gold records. I lived in Philly.
I love this!
My name is Joe and I come from Brooklyn 🤣
Love the Hollies.
The Hollies here where so smooth,my favorite band prior to my 70's bands. great respect!
graham getting so uncomfortable when she was getting all touchy feely is the funniest thing ever
Yea! LOL. OMG.
Not really, I think he was loving every minute of it.
probably hooked up
Love those Graham Nash parts in this song.
IKR!!! Love it
The Mike Douglas Show was from Philly. So I had a chance to see the Hollies in person; but I had to go school. Damn!
Welcome to Philadelphia. Don’t block Tony....
Graham said thanks for the gold record and then hopped the first flight to LA to meet Crosby and Stills.
El sabia donde estaba el oro que se le perdió al Rey Midas 😏

@Markus Town&Country
Understood!

I remember seeing this broadcast!

That broad should be up on sexual harassment charges. Book her, Danno!
That's not sexual harassment! It's just innocent flirting!
looove thiss!!!
Song starts at 3:20.
ZERO thumbs downs...there's hope for the future!
Five now. BOOOOO.
@@cmissshelleymichelle zero again LOL
ojalá restauren éste video y, el donde cantan Butterfly y On a Carousel 💝
Gold record
Mike Douglas was really knowledgeable about rock music. Lol
Graham nearly got seduced there, she wanted him BAD!
I don't think he was interested.
She was oozing over him and his facial hair growth. Just a real flirt that woman!
He should have went for it, ditched his missus shorty after this to move to the states.
casi secuestran a Graham XD *aatttrááás! señora devora-hombress* XDDD
:v
Tex Ritter !
Graham is definitely taken in x
the rhythm section is from manchester. i think that's relevant some how
They're proud of Manchester. Must be a really great place to live!

I think they refer to their (then) actual location at the time
Yeah, but I did think they looked a bit hesitant or something about it!

Lucky you! I imagine it's incredibly beautiful in England. Plenty of countryside compared to the states. Cheers.
What a tart 😒... "hands off, dearie, he's married". For his part, Graham was not playing along. Lovely rendition of Dear Eloise
Being married has never stopped any man or woman from flirting and having a good time!

Writing a letta to make you fell betta....
They played 2 other songs on this same broadcast...
Do we know the date of this appearance? Graham was gone by December 1968.
Clumsy interview by Douglas, and that woman was all over Nash -- awkward. Live vocals, though, so that was a treat.

You didn't expect Douglas to be a rock & roll expert, did you?
Trying to see who Mike's co-host was that week, the woman. Vaguely looks like Gwen Verdon, the dancer?
@Meowch Ah thank you!
I remember that episode. Anyone know what yr.?
A shame they introduced themselves as from Manchester or London :(
That was weird. They're ALL from Manchester! Listen to them talk!
Barnaby ap Robert They are NOT all from Manchester :)
They are more Pendle than Manchester - and we're certainly not from Manchester in Pendle !
Graham's actually from Blackpool.
Clarkey is the only one from Salford / Manchester.
Bobby and Tony and Bernie are all Pendle lads.
Most likely the place they were living n at the moment
Hated Dear Eloise ...one of Graham's writing efforts and he had the nerve to suggest the band were too pop 😮
The most awkward interview
The most I've ever seen on the Mike Douglas.
he did her after the show and the resulting baby Amy Schumer is all grown up
O-M-G! That's so ….
Really? i know Adam Levine is his other child
🤪
Great band though I do find Allan Clarkes vocals quite nasaly and piercing on some songs.
