Gosh I miss the days of the busy mall. Those places seemed magical when I was a kid.

The interiors of Lakeside and Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn are indistinguishable with one subtle exception. The floor at Lakeside is all square and rectangular tile. The tiles at Fairlane are all six sided.

Im picturing back in the day when loads of people come together n congregate at the malls. Xmas trees, decked out decorations, Santa Claus. It was magical! I dont recognize or belong in this era anymore.

Lakeside was off the chain back in the day, what in the world happened that they’re closing that beautiful place ? I was there one time and absolutely loved it

It seems like one of the design elements of this mall was the ability to get intentionally lost while not being really lost or unsafe. The constant shift in sight lines making it hard to know what you have already passed is interesting.

I remember you couldn't even get into the parking lot back into the late 80's, and early 90's during Christmas time. The last weekend before Christmas? FORGET ABOUT IT!!!
