Just pollinated two pumpkins this morning and I almost joined the page but didn’t think it was the real deal till I saw this video and that’s an awesome tape
I’m growing pumpkins first time in my life. We bought a Dill’s Atlantic and a Jack mini plants. We live in San Francisco, we bought the plants in Petaluma. Holy wow!! They are really taking off, huge!!! Dill’s has a lot of male plants and one female, the mini pumpkin has 2 female lots of male blooms. I’m a little worried because we don’t have much space in our backyard but I won’t give up!😃🎃
Any advice on pollinating during hot weather? The forecast is calling for 80s in the morning and upper 90s in the afternoon every day for the next week or more.
Get out there at 6 am with a grow light & get a early pollnation. keep plant shade netted all day long & mist plant at Noon 2 & 4 pm . I would shade pumpkin area 6 feet by 6 feet with 50% to 60% shade netting in the heat of the day
Lookin good! Thanks for the tips. Excited to see what the results are on the tissue test. Happy fishing!

How do you know if the pollen takes?
Pumpkin will continue to grow for several days and then a week later you should know if it’s still growing the pollen took
Looking good.. I was just gonna look for a tape measure
Hobby Lobby buy 2 tapes 288 inch Flip one & tape the two together.
yes pollen is better in the morning early
All about temperature
Hey Mark,
When do you know when the pumpkin was pollinated?
It should start growing three or four days five days you should know for sure that it’s growing if not it’s probably not pollinated
OK, thanks. I also often hear that female zucchini flowers can sometimes self-fertilize. Is it the case with pumpkins?
June 24th 9 days old today
Save me one of those seeds. I’ll be purchasing one.
No problem just hoping it has seeds
I’ll have one of hose tape measures for the comments
