Thanks for the advice! We have just uploaded our most recent video all about 'chasing chub' and catching some surprises along the way. You'll see in the video that your tips went a long way to improving my fishing! Thanks again
Hi Scott. Cheese paste is a winner anytime of year. My biggest chub of 8lb 6oz fell to the stuff. For winter I've done exactly what you've done with the pastry, but feel there's enough salt already in the cheese and pastry already. What I would do in the winter is add a small amount of 'infused oil' of your choice which come in many flavours, and which will help to keep the paste pliable in the colder months!
Just buy Kraft cheese slices & roll them into one big ball, break off a piece & mould it round a size 6 Hook in the shape of an Arlsey Bomb & that's it done. The older it is - the better it works.
Tried making my own cheese paste last winter to a very similar recipe to yours and it worked a treat on a flooded Upper Bristol Avon for the Chub. Tight lines mate. 👍
hi ..ive always made my own paste for years using pretty much the same ingredients...except the salt...but the last couple of batches ive been struggling to keep on the hook for long before it comes off...albeit its still quite warm weather so thinking of adding more pastry ..but it really is a good winter chub bait...not sure wether it picks out the bigger chub ..great videos you are doing by the way..really enjoying them
The salt I was unsure of but the guys I spoke to swore by it so thought why not lol, I'm glad your liking the videos and thanks for the comment it means a lot....plenty more videos to come too, cheers Scott
Ooooh !!! Stinky cheese 🤮.. well as long as the fish love it … and the mice will too Looking for leftovers on the shed floor 🤣🤣🤣….. cracking video buddy 👍🏽😀🎣
@@Scottsoutdoorchannel I bet !!! 🤣🤣🤣…. It would work great I suppose in the winter months too with that extra pong drifting downstream !! Rather the fish than me !!! Look forward to ya next video buddy …. Hey are doing another perch video any time soon ?? 😀😀🎣🎣
Well over a year has gone since this video was made. So. Have you continued using it?..I've found on rivers it's a stonking bait throughout the year...seems to be better from October to March in my opinion. My recipe is quite different from yours...but...we all have different tricks, nuances bits and bobs we all do, we are fishermen , I just thought i'd ask
Hi Stew, I've not had chance to really get out the last few weeks other than short lure sessions, I'm hoping to do a session with it when the rivers drop. Thanks for the support and tight lines

I think it is one of those baits for bad weather and higher waters, looking forward to using it again though.
@@Scottsoutdoorchannel definitely. When the water is up, coloured and cold you can’t beat it.
Took me a second to realise you had sped up the video. I feared for your fingers grating at that speed.
Lol, if only I could've sped it up in real life and got rid of that stink sooner lol

I'm actually doing a recce tomorrow of a venue that could produce a big one......but I'll also be back on the river very soon
Lmao! Hide from the wife…they know everything! Stick it in the fridge with the maggots and hide all the scissors 😂
Safely hidden away now lol
Best way to grate the blue cheese is whack it in the freezer to firm it up
That's a proper good idea lol, next time that's what I'll do......cheers for sharing
Why do you need to grate a soft cheese? Pmsl
Nothing like going the extra mile... wow the nose is going to be in meltdown for days.
Just don't rub your fingers on your T-shirt if making it yourself is all I'm going to say lol
