Yesterday I followed the first day of first week of HIIT in your app and totally followed your rule. A few hours later I went out and took a walk, I hit the 5,000+ steps in less then an hour having a chill moment walking outside, breathing fresh air, watching the stars 🥰 I know it will be a long wait for changes a to be noticeable enough to others but just the mindset of taking care of me, both inside and out made me enjoy a lot better both the workout and the simple walk (I wasn’t even wearing my sports clothes, so that I am training myself to go for a walk anytime of the day whenever I feel anxious or bored -instead of munching from those two- and enjoying the simplest things: that I have a pair of working legs that take me where I want to). Just these small SMALL changes have helped me keep trying and not get discouraged from weight fluctuations, from what I see in the mirror, from my own bad eating habits (munching at 3am, because I take pills that increase hunger 🥺). You have no idea of how much your wisdom has done for me the last whole year!
Here are my pilars of well being: 1. Hydrate - 3 to 4L per day with water. 2. Eat Balanced - eat more if exercise is awesome. 3. Sweat for 30 mins a day - I run or lift. Keep it simple. Use the stairs vs the elevator. Walk. Clean your home. Clean your vehicle. 4. Sleep - target 7 to 8 hrs 5. Make yourself happy.- this may includes removing toxic people from your life. If you have a fantastic active day or hard exercise, treat yourself to a movie or something fun.
To quote my old sensei in Karate "You are only training for your own cause and not because of others" Simply put I do this for me and it is my journey to make and i dont care what others think of it.
Compare yourself to yourself. Yes! I’d been feeling like the visible progress was barely perceptible, was really down on myself about it, when I came across an old picture. I was 2 of me! I can’t believe how much progress I’ve made and managed not to notice! That motivated me so much that since then I’ve lost enough to have to start altering my clothes. It’s been the biggest motivator and game changer so far. I was too self conscious to make much of a record of myself in the beginning but I’m doing it now and you should too!
The first one inspired me to stretch while listening to audiobooks! Stretching wasn't my favorite part of my workout routine, but after trying this it might have just become my favorite activity 😃
That is one of the best tips in general to stop comparing yourself to someone else. This only leads to misery because actually it is not possible to compare yourself to anybody because noone else has had YOUR life and life circumstances! Loved the video:)
Thanks Lucy. Living in the moment is one of the hardest things for anyone to do. I believe that the more often we live in the moment, the more enjoyable out life is.
You are so right! After a windy day and all the leaves on the ground, I chose to manually rake them up. "It's the little things!" Worked my arms, back and lower body. 😊
God, I can't imagine the rabbit-holes I'd get sucked into if I were in your shoes, trying to keep abreast of the "competition" etc when there seem to be so many superhumans around in the virtual (i.e. unverifiable) world. I think your solution of limiting your contacts to people you have actually met IRL is the only way to keep sane. Thank you for the top tips on getting out of self-doubt. I'ts common sense, I suppose, but you breathe life into it and I needed that today! I follow a few fitness folk on RUclips but you're definitely my favourite because you're so real. I wish I could wave a magic wand so that you'd never have a moment's doubt again, but life doesn't work that way does it 🤣😎😋
Good video! I have given up on making friends with women in this country (Australia) .... have had a lot of bad experiences..... ever had a woman 'friend' insult you about your weight or how you are dressing, I have and I'm over it! I have a really good friend who's a male, he never insults me and is always trying to build me up rather than knocking me down. In the meantime I am working on losing weight and getting into a better headspace in general. I am eating well and exercising and also going to therapy so that's all I can do I guess.
Hi Lucy! All I can say is that I cannot wait to watch a video of yours that comes up (especially the ‘counselling’ inspirational ones) I always find so much love and wisdom in them and are immensely helpful to me (and many others I’m sure). Thank you!
Omg yes! The comparison trap! Defo can relate Lucy!! 🙃 And I'm so with you re: following, engaging and surrounding yourself with your people that share similar core values and that can help you feel empowered on your own journey!! And yasss so key being able to reflect and acknowledge how much progress and growth we have made! I feel like it gives us true confidence to show ourselves we can do challenging things, that we are badasses and we can keep moving forward to becoming the most badass version of ourselves! 🔥
I love you so much gurl❣️ thank you for your amazing content! I don't know you personally, but I consider you a close friend who can understand what I feel, what I go through 🤗❤️❤️❤️ Love from India!
Thanks for the video! On my way to increase activity. You said 70£ for an standing desk? Omg I'm looking for one but does not go under 150£. Any advice? Haha cheers! And happy I found your channel at this time!

I love doing my own yardwork! One reason I'm trying to get stronger is so I can keep doing for myself through middle age and beyond.
