As to Intel as semiconductor company in the back: No benefit at all from that: EyeQs are manufactured at ST Fabs in Europe (Croles/France) or the newer ones at TSMC (Taiwan). Leading Tier1s doing designs with ME are ZF (former TRW), APTIV and Valeo. Continental never did a smart camera with ME inside, BOSCH neither. HKMC and Mobis, yes they are sourcing ME as well. watching this, I realized how different or not competing Tesla FSD is to Waymo. While Tesla about launch robotaxi soon, it's an uphill battle and it will take at least a year for Tesla to come close to Waymo's current operation. However, FSD feels more like a superior product at present as a driver assistance/car feature that should be on all cars (at a certain minimum weight and/or dimensions) by law. I think it can pay for itself easily due to countless lives and property, time, money being saved.

April 17 (Reuters) - The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday it had upgraded its probe into reports of unexpected activation of automatic emergency braking systems in around 3 million Honda Motor (7267.T), opens new tab vehicles to an engineering analysis.
The NHTSA said it had received 2,876 consumer complaints, and reports of 93 injury incidents and 47 crashes involving Honda cars with unique vehicle identification numbers that may be related to the issue.
The regulator had opened a preliminary evaluation into about 1.7 million Honda vehicles in February 2022 to assess claims that the automatic emergency braking system activated with no apparent obstruction in the vehicle's path.
Honda's Autonomous Emergency Braking works by using a radar and camera, and applies strong braking pressure if the accident becomes unavoidable, but gives drivers visual and audible alerts before kicking in.

This was filmed before the release of V12. Stated so in the video.

Tesla is clearly shooting for L4/5 even with current hardware, Elon have stated that current customers can add their cars to the RoboTaxi fleet. So your statement about what existing manufacturer are trying to achieve is not accurate.

Disappointed with this video. Turned off as soon as I saw FSD 12 was not shown. Why show an ancient version of the software? Big thumbs down.

We were honest up front stating that this video was filmed before the release of V12.

Love how all the people on here are arguing as if they work with these systems and design them….
What I know is that a modern Tesla will run over a child, suddenly veer into walls, jerk or react in odd ways when lines are not pristine on the road.
It seems pretty clear that both sensors have their place and that AI is nowhere near ready to take over driving for us

You do not know anything and obviously did not watch the video of Tesla driving on a dirt road.
Tesla ADAS has won awards for safety, specifically with pedestrian avoidance:

Why are you showing such an old version of FSD? FSD is now full hands free.

    • @MunroLive
      @MunroLive  Месяц назад

It was filmed prior to the release of V12 and we stated such in the video. The point was to showcase level 2 which we did with Ford and Tesla. It’s not a review of FSD.

      @@MunroLive- why showcase L1 & L2 when TESLA already @ L4 autonomy in Streets ?

According to the classification used by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), which we stated at the beginning of the video we were going by, Tesla's FSD is still very much at Level 2 regarding autonomous driving.

Also according to Teslas own website. “Like other Autopilot features, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) requires a fully attentive driver and will display a series of escalating warnings requiring driver response. You must keep your hands on the steering wheel while Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is engaged. In addition, the cabin camera monitors driver attentiveness.”

I am against when the car is overtaking the driver’s job by driving .It is the driver who steers the like many other things and not the car ! I am against self driving cars like Tesla and we have seen too many deaths because of this !

It is a violation of the car owners rights when the state interferes into how the drivers drive.
Now the photographing the traffic signs will be paired to a speed limiter which slow the car down to the speed on the signs It is a violation of rights and it’s wrong
