I've watched many videos on Sintra, Porto and Lisbon and most do not include prices, how to get in, what to skip and their transportation details. Thank you, this was so helpful!
Hi there I am just now discovering your channel. I love your travel content. I actually have some Pittsburgh ties. My mother is from Pittsburgh grew up in pleasant hills and went to Pitt. I also have family who all live in the south hills and the uniontown area. So seeing that you guys are from Pittsburgh and seeing your videos reminds me of so many memories of visiting. I also had grandparents who lived in South Park who are dead now god rest their souls. They actually every year used to take an annual trip up to seven springs. I am loving your channel and can’t wait for more content. Thank you for representing my second home very well. I am also a big Steelers fan so go Steelers. PS
Hey there Derek! Thank you so much for sharing your Pittsburgh connection story. We know where all those places are that you mentioned…really. Appreciate the kind words for the channel as well. Working on some new Portugal videos that are taking me a little longer to complete than I originally anticipated. Stay tuned. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you for posting this video, it was very helpful. We will be traveling with a 2-year-old, do you recommend taking a stroller to Sintra? I have a hiking backpack that I can take instead but a stroller os more convenient.
Thank you for tuning in. We found the grounds to be very hilly for a stroller. Carrying our almost 1-year old on us was much easier we found. However if you have a private car or some other means to get around, it may make sense. I don’t recall seeing many strollers there. Have fun. You’ll love it.
Wonderful video about Pena Palace. I'm going next month (December) and wish to skip the long lines for the interior and explore the way you did. Question: Once you got your ticket, did you just walk up to the Palace, past all the lines and straight into the Gift Shop to access the upstairs terraces? That's what I read about accessing the terraces upstairs. But this is where I'm a little confused. At what point did you have to show your ticket to the staff in order to go in? At the Gift Shop entrance? Or at the stairs leading up to the terraces inside the shop? Or was there a different way of getting past the queue and Palace security?
Thanks for tuning in. We just walked up to the palace. I think they checked it at the main entrance to the grounds. Then you were free to go from there. You’ll have a great time. It’s a beautiful place.
Quinta da Regaleira is full of masonic symbols. The Well was for initiation process - you descend into darkness ( ignorance) and you come out ( into the light) through the knowledge and wisdom that´s the purpose of the tunnels.
Do you mind saying what the exact name of your ticket was? I only see two options on their website: “Park” and “Palace & Park.” I am only interested in seeing the exterior of the castle (grounds) like you guys did. However, it looks like the “Park” ticket doesn’t include that at all and that I’d still have to purchase the “Palace & Park” ticket. I’ve looked everywhere for an answer and have yet to find a clear one…any help would be greatly appreciated!
I believe we got a ticket for just the “park entrance” We actually bought our tickets on our phone at the front entrance. I asked an employee how to do it and what we were looking to do and he guided me in the right direction. They are very nice there and should be able to help you out if need be.
