Only the first separated bit is necessary to understand the video, but I wanted to go ahead and explain most of it anyway. Essentially, both Stanley and the Narrator are trapped together in the Parable. Neither of them want to be there. The Narrator was an asshole at first ‘cause he didn’t think they could ever escape and Stanley was literally his only entertainment. That’s why he created the ‘story’, which Stanley hated following at first. After enough time, (and quite a few fights) Stanley convinced the Narrator that escape was possible and they started working together. But they still occasionally do the Narrator’s story, simply to prevent boredom. Also- The Narrator is actually an eldritch almost-deity being and the Parable was created specifically to contain him. Stanley is only there to keep the Narrator sane and to be a vessel for the Player. The same thing applies to the Curator and Mariella. (The Curator & the Narrator are siblings btw.) - Stanley remembers everything, even the things that the Player does while in control of him. The Narrator, on the other hand, forgets a lot of resets and events, but he does remember some of them. Frankly, he’s not supposed to remember anything at all because the Timekeeper _really_ doesn’t like him. So the fact that he still remembers things despite that only shows just how powerful Narry Boi is lol. Oh, and the Narrator doesn’t know the Player exists and only finds out about them occasionally, but _always_ forgets after a reset. The Player is essentially the one keeping an eye on all of them and enjoys messing around with the ‘story’ that the Narrator made, especially breaking it. The Player isn’t anyone playing the irl game either, they are an actual character in my AU. No one knows their name, not even the Timekeeper, so they just call them ‘Player’ since it fits how they act. 432 (aka Timekeeper/Settings Person) isn’t too important to my AU, but basically- they act kind of like the ‘warden’ and are trying to keep the others trapped in the Parable(s). The only person 432 likes is the Player, who is the only one they are kind to. --- Jenny: Doesn’t care about Stanley. Only knows about him from gossip. Max: Dislikes Stanley. Stanley makes more money than him by doing a very simple job, which Max believes is completely unfair. Amelia: Likes Stanley. She thinks he’s cute and hardworking. Doesn’t have a crush, but only because she knows he has a wife. Rebecca: Stanley’s Wife. Is a stay at home wife. Loves Stanley, but feels like they’re growing distant. Noah: Friends with Stanley. Hangs out with him outside of work, but isn’t a close friend. Has been comforting Rebecca since Stanley disappeared.
